You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

To be 6 again!

I always play this "IF" game and Benny says that one day he will write a book with all my many "IF's" in it,  One "IF" that I told to the kids goes like this (they thought I was nuts when I shared it btw).....
"IF" I could, I would be 6 again so I could fit and ride in Cozy's Barbie jeep and we would be BFF's
and another one went like this.....
"IF" all my kids could be the same age at the same time Id pick two years old, I would love it and love to see them all play together, but only for a while and with Benny home from work that day.
(Of course Atticus was more concerned if it was a Genie wish and Cozy wondered if I was 6 with short curly hair or long straight hair.)
Anyhow, Here are the photos from COZY'S birthday #6 SPA-rty,,,,,,
(FYI: after years of looking I found a slightly used barbie jeep on craigslist within a few miles of our home! Crazy good timing a? I wasn't about to pay full price for one of those and got a great deal and free delivery!! Cozy was thrilled!)

Tye dye cake and neighbor kids

I haven't been able to get into my editor to post anything so I guess I will be a bit behind for a while. Lately the neighbor kids have been hanging out a lot together! It reminds me when I was a kid and we would play kick the can until really late. I don't think the parents knew where their kids were half the evening and nor did they care back in those days. Different days then, A? I am all over the kids being together since that is a big reason I wanted to live in a neighborhood! So,these kids started out playing Hunger Games. They collect snacks and throw them into a cooler and use Nerf weapons to attack each other. Most of them don't even know anything about the Hunger Games. I think one of the older girls started it. She said her cousin saw the movie and told her about it! I thought it was "HUNGRY" Games at first since I have lost most of my snacks from the pantry. Now it is the Boys and Girls club which is more G rated and hopefully only my Popsicles will be gone. ALSO, Cozy had her 6th Birthday SPA-arty last week. Ten plus little girls with cucumbers on their eyes and pumpkin sugar scrub on their faces! It was a HIT! (photos to come soon) Here is the tye dye cake I made for her just "family" party. Benny reminded me after eating some that I am not a cook, but a fabulous baker! I think that's a compliment or an insult to my cooking!? But I agree because I am never one to cook up anything fabulous...just average! Anyhow, now that I am up and running again in the blogging world I can start showing you what we've been up too..... (next posts: face lift for the house, Cozy's party, and other projects)
oh, and might I add that my husband is the bomb because I am no longer paralyzed from the blog world! Thank you BENNY! xox

Spring Projects and POSH photos

A couple of projects I am working on:
1) Major face lift for the front of the house (photos to come later since it is still in progress)
2) Back yard improvements... I decided after realizing that Benny will be spending the spring working on his sail boat instead of the yard with me, I hired a dude to help me. We woke up Sunday morning to work that had been done as we were sleeping. A row of 22 arborvitae including dirt, rock, and sprinkler down. Impressive! That would have taken me a month to do! A dozen cookies for him and a check!
 AND
3) I did the Coco Chanel quotes on the stairs for my neighbors new store, POSH, in downtown Chelan. If you haven't been in her store, you should, even if you just go to look at the cool stairs! PHOTOS BELOW
4)I sent in a YOUGURTLAND application even though I know it is far fetched! I had to fill out a business plan and financial stuff. Atticus realized what I was doing when I sent it certified mail and said,"You're going to spend all of Daddy's money on yogurt!?" YES!
Given the demographics it most likely won't come of anything, but I'm a dreamer! I did write a lovely essay on the beautiful area we live in. Though Safeway, Walmart, Subway, and Starbucks are the only franchises in the area (I didn't mention that!) its okay to ask, right? Here's to DREAMS!!

Cozy is almost 6!

The other day the pear trees down the street where SO white that I had to get some photos! Every year I try to get our family photo there, but the trees are only pretty for a short time and then the wind blows off the blossoms. Plus, no one really wants to put on dress clothes for me and stand around and smile (unless I come up with a good bribe!) So, I got Cozy to be my little model and to play with me one afternoon. She always says "Sure Mom!" when I ask her to do something....most the time! I was glad I did it when I did because a small rain storm came in during the golden hours that I would have tried to take them! Isn't she just a doll?

Also, I saw this little saying on pinterest and had to make it. I just got a shawdow box and some felt "pop" stickers and put it together.

Funny things my cute KIDS do/say

I am SO entertained and delighted by my children each day. Here are some funny moments....

"My room looks like a tomato went through it!" ~COZY (she looks at it in amazement as if she had nothing to do with it!)

"Mom, I watered the counter for you!"~ATTICUS (after he wiped the counter down...he laughed after that!)

a SCARLETT Funny....I have been trying to get my garden ready and weeding almost everyday. Each time I find a worm Scarlett insists that I give it to her. She holds it like a precious baby doll and I think I saw her kiss one. YUCK! Yesterday, she had her little worm in the stroller and then in her old swing in the garage. She really likes the spiders and centipedes too, but I don't let her play with those!

Where's Matt?

My brother in-law is in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir! Pretty cool! He is a very talented singer! We love that when we watch, Scarlett is intense about finding him and says to us, "Where's Matt?" We are SO proud of him! (he is the one in the middle with his folder up high)

Baby Soleil.....and Disneyland!

We knew we wanted to go for our spring break to meet the kids newest cousin, baby Soleil. I wasn't so sure I wanted to do Disney again though. We have done it too many times with zero lines or special passes that get us on first so I wasn't excited about doing lines with a toddler. It was really about being with the family in the end! It was fun to see Atticus insisting on riding all rides with his Mimi, seeing Mark and Liz play parents for REALS, Cozy transform to a princess and then be treated like one all day by everyone and Scarlett discover the carousel. It was nice to just have Benny there without answering calls! So, it was a great trip! One of my favorite things was hanging out in pjs and watching the nightly firework show in our own beds.....magical! We hit many Yogurtlands each day too to help in dealing with California traffic. Here are some "iphotos". As you can see Scarlett was in love with the baby. That's TOUGH love! (Any photos with Mark, Liz and Mimi you'll have to see on Liz's blog. I was not in charge of taking pics on this trip)
