You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land, there is no other life but this.” ~Henry David Thoreau

Peeves

Maybe things seem to irritate me more being pregnant!?
Just thought I would vent on these two....
1) Orchard Dogs!
-Since early winter I have been fighting this battle. Counting our next door neighbor dog their are 5 dogs that are on my hit list. I am a natural dog lover, but things are starting to change. First account of the year was me in my pj's at 7 am fighting two dogs off with a broom as they tore through my garbage. Atticus was in hysterics in his warm room watching from his window below as I yelled not so nice words with a broom in hand and picking up garbage all over the street.
F.Y.I. I wasn't the one who left the trash out not in a can.
-Since the snow melted I get to shovel up dog doo doo! Note to self: put up fence!
-Backing out of the drive way to school the other morning Atticus yelled," Mom, stop you almost hit a dog!" in which Cozy responded, "It's just an Orchard dog!"
-Sometimes If I can't sleep I try to figure out if those are Coyotes in our back yard or wanna be coyotes aka "Orchard Dogs".
-I think the dogs see our yard as a park for them to mate, poop or whatever.
What to do!?
2) Night Nurses... that don't get it!
Since residency I have learned the art of sleeping through 2 in the morning calls from the hospital. Recently we have had some crazy night calls and I say WE because the nurses or one in particular calls to give the blow by blow of patients and I can hear her LOUD & CLEAR. I have been better at sharing with Benny the fact that taking a call in the echo-y bathroom or laundry room is not better than in bed. Plus I have been tossing and turning to find a comfy place for my getting-big-Belly and so I hear all the nurses 2 am stories. Benny agrees with me that unless they are a laboring woman and ready to push or orders for meds that can't wait...well, calling to share what the patients ever move is IS totally NOT necessary!

........Thanks for letting me get that out! I feel so much better!

IT's A......BABY!

Benny was out of town for a conference in TX for 5 days and so I went to the ultrasound by myself. It would have been nice to have him there since he knows what he's looking at, but I could only get in that day. In the photo you can see the placenta up top which is right in front of my belly. Hope that moves before they have to cut in! You can also see one leg smashed toward the body. The baby is the size of a can of coke. I promised him I wouldn't find out the sex. Luckily the legs were crossed even if I wanted to know. With each baby HE has not wanted to know, but I get that vote, right?
This time we are totally excited & in agreement to be playing it "Old School"!
So looking at this photo what do you think??
Cozy thinks she sees Ponytails and Atticus sees an Alien!
What is your guess?

Mom gets an F, Son gets an A!

Last night I was extremely tired! Okay, more than the usual. I had one of those crazy days of trying to bite the elephant off in one bite. By the time Atticus was done with homework I was on the couch checking in with Katie Couric. Atticus had his rocket stuff all on the floor and I just watched trying to figure out what he was doing. He took a rocket class this summer at CVIS, but this was the first time I saw all the equipment. He started gluing with super glue which he knows from last summer, gluing his fingers together, that it's powerful stuff. I wasn't to worried about him super gluing. I also figured he didn't know where the matches were and was only tinkering with the rocket.....plus he is only 7, right? In the meantime Cozy wanted to do "her homework" so I went in the other room to help her write her name etc. Benny was running late from work and dinner ideas were non-existent. The next minute I heard the next door neighbors dog in our back yard barking and Atticus running to the door. I could smell fire. So, he did know how to launch the rocket and silly me it was done with a small fuse and didn't need any matches. Of course I ran out to one, make sure his face and fingers were intact and two, to look for the rocket hoping it wasn't setting the orchard on fire. I asked Atticus in a stern voice what he thought he was doing and he said,
"You put me in a rocket camp and I learned how to make a rocket!"
hmmm..."That I did and you get an A+!"
I got a little lecture from Benny over the phone that night and then we had pizza.

Birthday recap.....

I had a super birthday! Photos below:
~the "belly" (this is esp. for MAUVIA) taken before Benny & I went out for dinner. It seems to get bigger at night and shrink in the morning!

Benny and I took the kids swimming Saturday after breakfast (love water!), and we went to a new restaurant in town CAFE MANSON. The owners use to own a restaurant in Pikes Place and everything was fresh from there. It is now a spot we will have to hit weekly!!
Apple Blossom Pageant with Jeff & Kendra and cheesecake at home!!
I got tickets for ANNIE the musical and a large spending coupon to buy furniture for our room!! It's time to start shopping & throw away the stuff we got out of dumpsters (not kidding)!!!

Thursday before my actual birthday I planned my own breakfast at Blueberry Hills! Didn't get a photo of Megan, but I did of her less than 1 month old baby Emilia pronounced AMELIA (with Jill).
Thanks for all who came!:)
