Easter

We dyed Easter Eggs Friday night. The girls had fun, after they dyed the eggs they put stickers all over them. Willow had Dora stickers of course and Ella had princess stickers.

We went to my parents house the night before Easter to sleep over. Everybody wanted ice cream so Shane and I started loading up the car with the kids to go get some when Ella found the stash of Easter basket goodies in the car. She said, "Look Mommy, is this going to be my surprise from the Easter bunny? A Cinderella toy?" I of course lied to her and told her no that was Willow b-d present (for July). She said, "You got her Cinderella?" I wanted to convince her that it wasn't Cinderella so when she saw it in her basket the next day she wouldn't associate it with what she saw in the car, so I told her that it was Elmo dressed like Cinderella. She dropped it and I was hoping she bought my elaborate lie. Easter morning when she found her Easter basket and her Cinderella toy she goes "Look Mommy Willow's b-d present...I TOLD you it was Cinderella" So then I had to lie again and I told her that the Easter bunny bought the Cinderella toy to me early and wanted my to hide it from her. She said "Oh, the Cinderella toy is for me?... THAT'S WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED!" She was so excited, I hoped she bought my lie (again). When my grandma came out and said, oh look what the easter bunny brought you Ella, a Cinderella toy. Ella replied, "No, the Easter bunny didn't bring it, Mommy bought it at Target." So much for all my lying. :) She is getting too smart.

As you can tell we didn't stage the pictures, we took them as the girls were- bed head and all. When Willow woke up, we told her the Easter bunny came and hid a basket for her. She just started singing Little Bunny FuFu (spelling ?) She didn' t even care about her basket......that is untill she found it and saw it had a "Dora baby", a princess wand, and CANDY (see it clutched in her hand) :)

We went to church with my family and then came home and Ella helped my mom make "Broken Glass Dessert".

I helped my mom make a fruit basket. It had fruit, peeps ,and jelly beans.

What's better than strawberries on a stick?

Over all, it was a good Easter. Here's a picture of me and the girls just as we were getting ready to make the drive home. Both girls had such a fun day they both fell right asleep during the drive, gotta love that. :)

Here's an update on what we have been doing this month. First, Willow had a swimming lesson and did amazingly well. Shane had a day off and was able to come and watch. Willow showed off for him and floated for about 10 seconds. I couldn't believe it.

Later on, we went to the park to take some Easter pictures. The girls got a little distracted by the other people at the park but I think they turned out well.
One day we saw some blue bonnets and stopped to take some pictures. Shane had his quarter Iron Man a couple weekends ago in Galveston so we went down early and stayed in a hotel. We played minature golf and the girls loved it. When we were in Galveston, Willow and I went to get a movie and when we came back to the hotel this is what we found... ...Shane (who has a bathing suit on) took all the bubble bath, all the soap, all the shampoo and made threw it all into the bathtub. Ella thought it was too funny.

We went to the beach in Galveston and the girls loved it. The water was still a little too cold but they loved the sand. We brought bubbles and Willow still doesn't get the concept of blowing out and the sand didn't help the situation.
So, Shane finally did his quarter Iron Man. He finished with a better time than what we was hoping for. I was very impressed. He did a .6 mile swim, 28 mile bike ride, and 6 mile run in 3 hours 17 mins. (I know that the clock above the finish line says different but that was from the start of the race and he was in the 4th heat)Then, my grandparents came to town and we took the girls to the beach again. They still loved the sand. Well that has been our April so far. Hope you enjoyed the pictures.
