Utah

This week the girls were out of school so we decided to go to Utah to visit Blain and family.
Sunday we were on the road bright and early.  We drove in every type of weather imaginable.  We left home in fog, and when we got into Utah we had rain and then snow.  We arrived just in time for Martel to give Dace a blessing.  Dace left on Monday to go into the Army.

Monday morning Dace, Martel, Hollie, Ezra and Ashatine stopped by to get a picture of Dace with Grandpa Blain.
On Monday John and I went to Provo with LB and Linda. While the girls stayed with Ashatine and Ezra at Grandpa Blain's House for the day.  We spent the day at the University Mall.  We did some shopping and John got his first suit at Mr. Mac.  Later that afternoon we met Martel and Hollie for an early Valentines Day dinner at Tuscanos Brazilian Grill.  We had never been to a restaurant like this.  Servers come to your table non-stop with skewers of different meats, vegetables and grilled pineapple as long as you have the green sign on your table.  If you want them to stop coming you turn your sign to red.  We also got to have unlimited soup, salad, pasta, bread and Brazilian lemonade.  It was very good.  The pineapple was my favorite (along with the milk chocolate truffle) they gave us for dessert.  We're going to have to do some searching and see if we can find some place like this near us. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures.  I think Martel and LB did.  Hopefully they will share their pictures.

Tuesday we awoke to snow and stayed at Blain's and visited with Martel and his family.  John surprised me by having some flowers and chocolate covered strawberries delivered to me for Valentines Day (the Ward in Oak City did this for a fundraiser).

Wednesday we took the kids to Provo.  We went to a place called Provo Beach Resort.  It's an indoor surfing, bowling, crochet, golfing, arcade, rope course, play house place.  Really neat place.  I think California needs one of these places.

The surfing area.  If we would have brought swim suits, John and the girls probably would've tried it.

This looks pretty real.  She just needed a swimsuit!

John took the upper course.  Mikayla took the lower course.  After a bit, John was wishing he took the lower course too.  He was getting nervous.

After the beach resort we went to a toy and candy store in the same shopping center.  John and Mikayla were being goofy.

We also went and had lunch at Chuck-A-Rama and went to Desseret Book while we were in Provo.

Thursday Martel let us ride his quad.  We also had a little birthday celebration for Blain.  Blain's birthday is next week, but we wanted to do a little something before we all headed home.

Martel's family came over and we sang Happy Birthday to Blain and had cake and ice cream.  Everyone said their good-bye's before we all headed home the next day.

Friday morning we woke up bright and early and made the journey home.

Young Master Artist's Art Show

Ashlee's art teacher entered a bag that she had wove into The Mistlin Art Gallery in Modesto.  Her art was on display at the art gallery for about a month.   Today they had an awards ceremony  for all the artists and their families.

101 Dalmatians

For months the girls have been practicing for their school's 101 Dalmatians performance.  Ashlee was a junior conductor (she led the choir).  Mikayla was a dalmatian in the choir.

Ashlee was on her knees in front of the choir for the entire perfomance so we couldn't see her or get pictures of her!
