Ponytails and pregnant bellies

Hi folks. With little exciting things happening in our lives, there's not a lot to document. I did however manage to get a couple of cute pics of Raegan's ponytail. If I'd had a bone, she would have looked like Pebbles :) It's funny because it stands straight up. She didn't seem to notice when I put it in, but when she saw her reflection in the mirror she started crying and pulling it out. I think she thought it looked a little ridiculous :) Don't make fun of the PJ's. We tend to hang out in them until after her nap. Notice she is trying to talk on the telephone. She loves to say hi to everyone... wonder where she gets that from?!
Well, here I am at 33 weeks. This picture doesn't do my gigantic belly justice, but take my word for it... I'm a big girl now! Not nearly as big as I was with Raegan, but still very big!!!
This one shows my girth a little better. This bare belly is for you Missie Large!!! I miss you guys!

Thanksgiving

Well, we at the Roop house have a lot to be thankful for this year. Not only has our son decided to stay put in the comforts of his mama's belly a little longer, we have our sweet little Raegan who is happy and healthy. We have a marriage which seems to get stronger every day, and we have our wonderful family to share our memories with. Thanks to all of you for your prayers for us now and throughout the years!!
This is Thanksgiving morning, and Raegan is wearing the dress my grandmother made her. Most of you who knew me in my childhood would probably have flashbacks of me in those frilly dresses and patent leather shoes. I even put ruffled socks on her. (We don't get very girly often :) I have to admit, she did look really cute! (I'm 33 weeks pregnant now!) She was giving her best cheese! She looks like a baby doll in this picture. Almost not even real!We were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with my 93 year old grandmother whom Raegan was named (Estelle). It was a fun filled day visiting family and eating as much as our bellies could hold. Raegan took over the role as family entertainer this year. Here she is very excited to accept the teddy bear that Mom Owens gave her. Riding horsey with Uncle Ken.I just love the look on her face. She looks really guilty of something! You can see, she had every one's attention. As most of you know, Raegan is somewhat of a loner. She doesn't cuddle much and definitely doesn't take up with people she doesn't really know. She is very cautious when it comes to strangers... or so we thought. This is Raegan with my little cousin Jordan. He is about 15 years old and Raegan fell in love with him as soon as he walked through the door. She kept wanting him to hold her (not something she does often with anybody) and cried her little heart out when he had to leave. It was very sweet!
Jordan was a very good sport the whole day. He did whatever she wanted, and even watched her "buppy" and dog while she played. It was a rare sight to watch Raegan with him!

New coat

Not much going on in the Roop household lately. My camera has been dead for a few days, and I finally remembered to charge the battery today. Anyway, I tried Raegan's new winter coat on her today, and she loved it. Her Nana got it for her last year (on clearance of course :) and she looked adorable in it. Don't mind the PJ's under the coat. Anyway, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Our week in review

Well, for those of you who don't know... Drew is trying to be uncooperative. Monday I started having hard contractions again and am now off work, trying to rest at home. I've been given steroid shots to help develop his lungs, and am taking Brethene every 6 hours. So far, my contractions have decreased in strength, but I'm still having them. I did this with Raegan as well, so I'm trying not to be too concerned. I have started to dilate a little, and will be rechecked on Friday to see how things are going. I'll be sure to post an update.
As for our week, this was taken Saturday before Tony and I headed off the the VA Tech game. We were both decked out in our Hokie attire, so we thought it fitting that Raegan wear her Hokie gear as well. She was so funny, because she refused to wear the outfit without the jacket. I was afraid she would get too hot with all her layers on, but she didn't seem to mind. She didn't want to look out of place :)Raegan has actually taken to "mothering" dolls and teddy bears lately. Here she is rocking a little bear that plays lullabies. The sweetest thing is she was singing her "bye-o" song to it. (bye-o baby bunting) For those of you who don't get to hang out with Raegan much, these next two pictures won't be too surprising. For those who know her well, you will be shocked to find her using HER "buppy" (or blankie) to tuck in a baby doll. This is the one thing that she never sleeps without, never leaves the house without, and definitely doesn't share... so for her to let her baby use it, I was very impressed. It's like she gave that baby a million dollars!!!

Last but not least, she has this strange obsession with putting things on her head or around her neck. She usually just does it when I'm getting clothes out of the dryer, but this was just after she woke up the other morning. She decided to put her pants on her head instead of her legs after we changed her diaper. She walked around like this for a good 20 minutes. Just one of those random things I guess :)

Finally... Halloween pics

Well, for those who don't know Tony and I just returned from our last little trip before baby Drew arrives. Dr. Lutz, my boss, sent our entire staff for a trip to Las Vegas. He paid for all 12 of us... a deed worthy of saying thanks on my website! Anyway, we have been settling back into our routine here in the real world so I'm just now getting around to putting pictures of our little Poodle skirt girl from Halloween. It's not a holiday we really get into, but I'm always up for the chance to dress up my baby girl. This first picture is my favorite. She was more interested in throwing the pumpkins and the "ocks" or rocks in our landscaping.
Here she is trying to get more rocks to spread around the yard. Who wants them all sitting nicely together anyway?!
This is her little cousin Ethan. We went to visit Raegan's "mamaw Jan", my aunt who keeps her one day a week for me.
Finally, Raegan gets the only thing she really wanted from Halloween.... CANDY!
Here is one of the 4 picture that I took in Vegas. That's right, the picture fanatic only took 4 pictures the whole time we were there. I guess once you've been to a place 6 times, it loses it's WOW factor. Anyway, I'm 30 weeks pregnant here. My belly seems to have sprouted a little huh!!!!
Just a little update on our little Drew man, I went to the Dr. Tuesday and they did a thorough exam of me and Drew. I am still having fairly frequent contractions, but they are not causing me to dilate yet. (which is why I am still working and why I got to go to Vegas) They measured Drew, and turns out he is a little bigger than expected. He measured 3 lbs 13 oz. at 30 weeks. (almost 4 lbs ALREADY!) He was measuring at 62%, which doesn't seem all that big except he told me 80% of infants fall in the 40-60% and Drew is in the 20% that does not. He didn't seem to think anything was wrong with him, either just a big baby or a little further along than expected. At the rate he is growing, if I carry him 10 more weeks he will be 9+ lbs at birth! AAHHH!!! I guess time will tell.
