Not much going on

Not much going on at the Roop household. I would like to announce that at almost 15 months Raegan has finally gotten tooth #3!!! That's right, she still only has 3 teeth, but it looks like #4 is soon on it's way. It hasn't slowed her down though. She can manage to eat corn on the cob, steak, and just about anything else that you give her. Here are a few random shots from this week. This picture was taken at bath time the other night. Her hair is finally growing, but she doesn't seem amused that I gave her a mowhawk! She grabbed her rinse cup and started chugging the bath water. Thankfully, no soap had been added yet.
She was loving on her daddy just before bedtime.
She loves to study my camera. This was too cute!
Mama and Papa Roop tailgating at the VT game this weekend.
Here is a picture I took of Raegan's 1 year old portrait as it is hanging over my mantle. This used to be where my wedding portrait hung, but I've been replaced. This was just after nap time the other day. Raegan's bed-head just cracked me up. The pictures really don't do it justice. It was standing up all over the place. Notice her expression here... "Get away from me with that camera! Don't you know I just woke up!"
You can see it a little better here.
This is a new game she likes to play. She is fascinated with crawling under your legs, but the other day she squeezed her way up between my legs and yelled "Boo" She is turning into a monkey!
This is my child watching Barney. I don't let her watch much TV, but when that purple dinosaur is on... she is mesmerized. I just love how she "chills" in her VT chair :)

Cool girl Raegan

Here are just a few random pictures we managed to capture this week. She really thought she looked cool in these shades. I didn't have the heart to tell her they looked a little like clown glasses. She was so proud :) Here is what I've been getting lately every time she sees the camera (or video or even your cell phone for that matter) She looks at you and squishes her face up like this and says "CHEESE". I gotta say, it's pretty cute though. This was Saturday morning, just before we took off for the Va Tech game. No, we weren't brave enough to take a 1 year old to a football game, but we decided to let her dress up like us. She makes a very cute little Hokie! She kinda looked like a boy, except for the pink blankie. Again, with the Cheese face.
Ah, another belly picture of baby boy Roop. I am 6 months (24 weeks) along now. He is getting stronger and more acrobatic every day!!! It's very interesting having one baby jumping on the inside of your belly, and another bigger baby jumping on the outside! All I can say is this baby better come out with a helmet and pads on for protection from his wild sister. For those of you who don't know, we kinda have a name picked out. This is not definite, but we are considering Andrew and we will call him Drew. No middle name just yet. I'll keep you posted if we change our minds.

Exploring her world

Okay, maybe I'm having an emotional pregnant mama moment, but sometimes I'm still caught off guard just how much you can love your children. It's mind boggling to think how much Raegan has changed in the last 14 1/2 months! I can remember getting so excited at that first smile, and then that first chuckle. Then the first word (da-da of course) and the first time she said MaMa. Now she can count to 3 (I'm not lying, she really can!) and can generally get her point across at what she is trying to tell me. Communication with a one year old is an incredible thing. However, as I was putting her to bed tonight, she leaned over and gave me a kiss and for the first time said "LOVE YOU" without being told to say it. My heart melted into a pile of mush. It sounded a little more like "LOL LOU", but it was priceless to me! I've waited for this for a long time, and never thought at 14 months she would say that on her own. Maybe she doesn't know what it means yet, but I have waited a long time (just like every other mother has!) to hear my baby tell me "love you"!!!!! It's an incredible feeling.

Okay, enough gushing, here is what my "sweet" child has been into lately. Her world is all about discovering new things. This picture was taken one Saturday morning while wrapping our Cousin Ben's birthday presents. She climbed into the box, and folded the paper over her legs like she was going to be the present. If only we could have gotten off that cheap :)
Here she is standing in her daddy's shoes. She loves to drag our shoes out of the laundry room and match each pair to their owner. She's got a good record so far.
CAUGHT!!! Here is what I saw as I was coming out of the office. It just so happened I had my camera in hand. I managed to capture that "OH NO, she caught me" look on her face. Here is what I found upon further investigation. The entire roll of toilet paper was strung all the way from my bathroom, and down the hall nearly making it to the living room (as you can see above). Her fascination with the bathroom is growing. YIPPY.And another one of her new favorite tricks... flushing the toilet. Who would have thought that so much entertainment could come out of that cold, porcelain thing we all use everyday. The only set back is our water bill is sure to go up :)The other evening while Tony was in the yard practicing his golf swing, she decided to try it out herself. She looked hilarious. She really wanted to do it herself, but is a little vertically challenged for this size club. She loves to ride on your shoulders. This is a cute picture of all the children at Ben's 3rd birthday party. From left to right, Ethan, Ellie, Raegan, Annie (hidden behind Raegan), Ben, Macie, Brodie, and Connor. They had a great time!
There is cool girl Annie. She took her job of holding Baby Raegan very seriously! Here is a very mobile Brodie. He officially out-weighs Raegan now. He was 21 lbs at his last check-up and Raegan is just now 19 lbs.
Here is Ben, almost getting away with sticking his finger in that icing! So tempting!!!!!
Well, it's a little late to be putting it on the blog, but Happy Birthday Nana and Ben (September 9)

Home again

Well, we are back from our final vacation of the summer. It always seems like summer is over when we unpack our bags and re-settle back into our daily grind. I'm sure that Raegan had enough fun for all of us this time! She would play as hard as she could, take a 3 hour nap, then back to playing again. She was a good traveler, and adjusted quickly to sleeping in a new bed. Actually, she didn't usually get out of the bed until 10:30 every morning. She is a late sleeper like her daddy :) Speaking of her daddy, he spent 3 of the 7 days o four vacation quarantined to the bed. He came down with a nasty chest cold/bronchitis and we called our family Dr. back home. After a couple of days on antibiotics, he was feeling some better. It took it's toll on him though. He kept saying he was just glad it was him this time instead of Raegan! Anyway, I've sorted through the pictures, and here are some of my favorites. I just love these hand holding pictures. They are so sweet!
The whole family getting dirty in the sand.
The girl who wouldn't wear a bow, is suddenly fascinated with them. She had her hair full of them. I stuck this one in only because you can see how big Baby Boy Roop is getting. He is definatly making his presence known in the world!
Raegan and her Mama
Hanging with Nana and Grandad.
Just a little sunbathing! That was a really sour popsicle!
A perfect shot of her sneaky face.
Mama and her TWO kiddos :) Notice the one in the belly is growing! We took a really sweet family picture, but you will have to wait for your Christmas card to see that one :)
Sweet baby girl.
She thought grandad might burn his head, so she took him his hat. As you can see, she put it on herself :)
She was scarfing down cheese and crackers. If you look closely, she has some cheese on her nose. I think she was saving it for later.
Naturally, we had the camera and video camera out ALOT, and this was what we got a lot of... Raegan's "cheese" face.
The whole gang, after Tony had recuperated somewhat.
This was hilarious because she had backed herself into Grandad's sand castle and just sat right down like it was made for her. (which it was of course :)
This was my favorite picture of the whole week. Raegan LOVED toting around this little pink sand bucket. In this picture it had about 2 Tablespoons of water in it and she carried it like it was the heaviest thing in the world. It just cracks me up!

This is sweet, holding daddy's hand.
Riding the Ferris Wheel with mama.
Well, I think that is enough of the beach for now. It makes me want to go back and stay a little longer! We had a great time.
