New things

Lots of new and exciting things are taking place at the Roop household. Raegan has been walking for a while now, but finally decided to crawl. It was so weird, she was home with me one day and just after her morning nap, I sat her down and walked over to get a diaper AND SHE FOLLOWED ME! She just all of a sudden started to crawl around like she had done it her whole life! She is unstoppable now! We also have been frequenting the pool this summer. It had been such nice weather that we didn't want to stay cooped up inside. We went to the pool on last week with Annie and Ellie, but failed to get any pictures. It's hard to keep up with a baby and take pics too. We did manage to get a few pictures Wednesday of our swimming trip with Ryan and Lisa. We had a blast!

Fun in the sun!

Well, we mothers can certainly get crafty (or thrifty :) if we just use our noggins. Raegan and I tried our her new "pool" today. (Don't tell her that is used to be her baby bathtub) I'm certain she would have played for hours if I had let her. She was so funny. We started in the sun, but since she refused to keep her hat on, we had to move to the shade. It was pretty hot today anyways. Her favorite thing was picking the grass and putting it in the water. I guess its better than in her mouth. She was wiped out after playing, and she is napping away. By the way, I went to the Dr. today and I'm almost 7 weeks along. My due date is January 13, kinda funny because Rae's due date was July 13. I guess 13 is our new "lucky" number :)

Check out that hair!

Saturday, May 19, 2007

Well, for those of you who don't know yet, the Roop family is growing! We found out that I am expecting another baby, but we don't have a due date yet. I will be going to the Dr. on Friday, so hopefully we will see how things are going and how far along I actually am. From what we can tell, this happened before we left for Las Vegas. (so no, it's not a souvenir :) We were very surprised, but are ecstatic!

I'm not sure if you can read Raegan's shirt or not, but it says "I'm the Big Sister!"

I guess you will have to see belly pictures again. I don't really care for the look of this belly so far, mostly because it's still a little pouchy from Raegan (and the 50 lbs I gained with her) So this is not really a baby pouch just yet. I had been working really hard on getting it smaller and tighter, but I guess we will just watch it get bigger. It's more fun anyway :)
This was just a sweet moment that daddy caught this afternoon. Raegan had just gotten up from a 3 hour nap, and it took her a minute to wake up. She was just snuggling with her mama :)

Visit with Mom Owens

We visited Mom Owens on Sunday for Mothers Day. We all enjoyed our time with her, especially Raegan. Raegan said she wasn't about to let her take a rest though, 93 or not :) She had places to go, and things to do. :)

This is a before and after shot of Nana's pretty corsage that Grandad got her for Mother's Day. It was so pretty, but of course, Nana didn't stop Raegan from "looking" at her flower. Notice the lack of petals in the second picture. This was the other evening when I was grilling out, and Tony was out front mowing the yard. I thought it turned out so cute! Can you tell that she is still teething? She is 10 1/2 months old, and still no teeth.

A day at the park

Last Wednesday, Sonya and I took all three of our kids to Abingdon to run a few errands and on the way back we decided to stop by a little park near our friends, Carrie and RuthAnne. Despite the extremely high temperatures, we still managed to have a good time and have a little adult chat all the while. Our park experience didn't last as long as we had hoped, but the fear of sunburns on delicate skin sent us home early. Here are some of the adorable pics of the days adventures.

Raegan really was having fun, but she just looks serious in this picture. Maybe she was embarrassed by the goofy hat I made her wear!
What you can't see in this picture are the remnants of pine bark mulch all around her mouth... she decided to taste a little!

Here is Sonya and big man Brodie. He just barely fits in his Baby Bjorn.

I loved this picture of Carrie and RuthAnne! I still think they look alike (sorry Robbie :)

This is Macie showing Raegan how the slide works. She is very helpful. When we travel with all three kids in the backseat of Sonya's Toyota Sequoia, (yes THREE car seats on one bench seat) Macie is always telling either Raegan or Brodie "Almost" (for almost there) if they get cranky. She is so motherly :)

Here is my little friend Macie taking her turn on the swing set. Don't you love the pigtails!

I saved my favorite for last. I love this one with all three girls piled up together. I think they were going for the same piece of mulch.

I think this one is precious. RuthAnne is trying to get Raegan's goofy hat. (HEY, at least she will wear one!)

New adventures

Here are just a few new pics of what our baby girl has been getting into these days. These first ones are my attempts at taking her 10 month picture in the "reading" chair. I ordered her these new hair bows, "No slippy hair clippys" and they stay in really well... until a curious little red head realizes they are in there. She doesn't really care for them much.
This is her "mean" face. She squishes up her nose and pants like a dog... only it's not too mean with her smiling and laughing the whole time :)
These next ones are her picking Nana's (fake) flowers from this basket and looking oh-so-innocent while doing it.

This is Raegan "helping" Mama with the laundry. We were looking for something comfy to put on, so she decided to just go through everything that was in the dryer.
Here is a little reading time with daddy just before bedtime.

We are home

Well, we've been home for a while now, but I guess we have been taking advantage of our time with Raegan. Tony and I had a wonderful trip away, but have never been so happy to get home! This was our family the morning we left. Notice that Raegan looks a little sceptical :)

Raegan seemed to have a great time to, aside from getting her first black eye at her Nana's. I'm pretty sure that Nana cried harder than Raegan, and I'm happy to say that she is fine now.

Here are a few pictures from our trip. It will probably take me a few posts to get them on here. I'm having a hard time choosing the best ones.

This is the Bellagio where we stayed. This is in front of the Bellagio, looking at the hotels across the strip.
I felt like a real photographer taking this picture. In the middle of the hotel, they have a garden set up, and this was in the butterfly observatory. This is part of the garden. This is the ceiling "art" that is in the entrance. You can't understand the scale of this thing, but each of those circles are hand blown glass, and they are probably the size of big washtubs. It's amazing!
This is just a picture of the two of us at Mandalay Bay. Kinda random, but it shows both of us.This is the fountain water show in front of the Bellagio. You may have seen it on the Travel Channel before. It's really neat. I took video, but I don't know how to get a video on our blog. If anybody knows, please educate me!
One our last day, we took a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. This is a view of the "Strip" from the air.
I've got lots more pictures of the grand Canyon, but these were my favorite. Pictures just don't do it justice! It was the most magnificent thing!!! You can't really understand how big this is, so just to let you know... the cliff on the left is 3000 feet high. That's more than twice the height of the Empire State building, which is almost 1500 feet. Pretty amazing, huh.
This is a view of the Hoover Dam.
This is what we saw out our window the morning we left.
