Ellie's Birthday party

We were invited to be a part of Ellie's 3rd birthday celebration last Saturday and here are some of the highlights. It was way past Raegan's bedtime, but she had lots of fun despite that fact. Annie and Ellie were lots of entertainment to keep her awake and satisfied for an hour or so. Those girls just love Baby Raegan! Can you tell?

As you can see here, Annie and Ellie had a hard time waiting until the cake was cut to have a taste. They decided to show Raegan how things are done when you are 3 and 4 years old. I'm sure that Raegan is stashing all of this sneakiness in that little red head of hers.

Thanks to Ginger, Raegan was able to get her little fingers in the icing just before Mama had a chance to say no. Lucky for me, Raegan isn't the best at feeding herself yet and didn't realize what was on her fingers... so I licked it off before she could snag a taste! And no I don't think I should have to count those "points" for that lick of icing. I was just keeping Raegan from eating all that sugar. It was my duty as a mother :) (For those of you who don't know I'm on Weight Watchers and suddenly everything edible becomes a point value not just a food)

Here is Nana getting in a love squeeze from Raegan. If you can't tell, Raegan doesn't care for snuggling much... but that doesn't stop Nana from hugging anyway!
As you can tell by Grandad's face, Raegan has begun grabbing at faces. She definitely has sharp little claws!

Trying to catch a smile

Despite not feeling her best yesterday, we still managed to get a few cute pictures. I'm not sure if we have entered the teething phase, but grumpy is going to be her nickname for a little while. My precious angel who has slept through the night since she was 6 weeks old (and spoiled me and her daddy) has recently been waking throughout the night whining and just seeming restless. She has also given up her 1 1/2 hour naps up for some extra whine time and a cat nap here and there! We may have bags under our eyes, but like all things... this to shall pass!
She always enjoys some early morning reading. This is one of her favorites... you other moms might recognize "Brown bear, Brown bear, what do you see." She really likes all of the animals and usually trys her best to get them out of the book.
Those beautiful blue eyes are enough to melt my heart sometimes!
We did manage to get a few smiles out of her... despite her lack of sleep and lack of naps. I miss my good little sleeper!!!!

Raegan's first playdate

Raegan had her first playdate with her friend Ryan just the other day. They were so funny together. Ryan just seemed to want to show her the ropes and Raegan was more than willing to soak it all up. I think she was most jealous because Ryan could move around all by himself. She barely took her eyes off of him the whole time we were up there. Here are just a few pics of the day. Ryan had to show Raegan just how this toy worked.Raegan gave it a try herself but just couldn't seem to catch those little balls!
Ryan let Raegan try out his Elmo chair (it wiggles and laughs), but Raegan just seemed more interested in figuring out how he could walk around and climb up on stuff without his mommy helping him.

Raegans is trying to figure out why this chair is wiggling with her in it. By the look on her face, she doesn't look to sure about it.

My aspiring concert pianist!

These next couple of pictures were taken at my grandmothers on Sunday. Here is Raegan playing with her Aunt Doot (aka Nana Doot)

Wouldn't you know that her grandad was filling her head with lots of secrets. She loves it when you whisper in her ear, and I'm sure that grandad was telling her exactly what she wanted to hear!
Zoe kept trying to get Raegan to hold still so she could put these keys on her head... as you might imagine Raegan didn't cooperate. :)
Last but not least, Zoe just had to get her hands on that baby! She kept saying "She wants me doesn't she!"

Finally better

So sorry about the lack of posts. The day after Christmas, Raegan got sick with an ear infection. We thought she was getting better and suddenly she took a fever again and this time was coughing and not eating well. Turns out she ended up with bronchitis... not very fun for a 6 month old. Then Tony and I ended up with severe sinus infections with fevers as well. Needless to say after a couple of nights with Nana and Grandad and a round of antibiotics for everyone, I think we are all finally on the mend. Anyway, I think I will be able to find some time to put new pictures up now... it was just not a priority while we were recuperating. Here's what's been going on at the Roop house. This is Raegan's new bath tub. She thinks she is a big girl now, so laying down to take a bath was for the birds. This new tub has bumper-like sides so if she happens to tumble over, she has a soft landing spot. It was well worth the $9 invested! Notice the two washcloths... one is for her to suck/chew on and the other is to actually bath her with :)

This is Raegan's 5 month picture in the "reading chair". I forgot to put it up last month.

And here is her 6 month picture. I'm going to try and put all of her monthly pics on one blog so you can all see how she has grown. It's crazy!
This is just a blooper picture of her tumble. Like I said, she thinks she is a really big girl, but still has the occasional crash.
And last but not least... This picture was taken for her daddy. Most of you know that Tony is an accountant. I think his mother bought this for her a long time ago. I thought it was appriopriate since tax season is here. All you new parents can probably relate!
