A day with my friend Macie

Raegan got to go hang out with her friend Macie yesterday. She got all dressed up in the outfit her mamaw got her. Doesn't she look cute?!
Macie didn't really know what to think about this baby being at her house at first.


Then she wanted to love all over her. She kept trying to share her "Binky" with her and kept giving me or Sonya a blanket to cover her up. She was very sweet with her.

Macie wasn't sure if she liked holding her or not. I couldn't believe that wild woman Macie was so calm and sweet with her. It's a good sign of how she will be with her baby brother that is due in December.

Raegan seems to try really hard to find her thumb. I don't know if she will be a thumb-sucker or not, but she is very interested so far.

Raegan's first photo shoot

Mom and I took Raegan to get her picture taken on Saturday. She was so good! The photographer took almost 100 pictures of her and expected us to be able to pick just one or two. These are just a couple of our favorites. Hopefully you will see the best one when we send out our announcements.

Raegan's first birthday party

This is Raegan at her very first birthday party. Her cousin Conner turned 2! As you can see, Ben and Conner really liked her. They are so sweet with her now, but I am sure that before too long, they will be treating her like my brother and cousins treated me... playing games like 52 card pick-up and taking me to bury me! I hope she is going to be tough.

This was Raegan's cousin Ben holding her for the first time. He had to have a little assistance, but was very sweet with her. As you can see, he was delighted to get to "hold" her.

Sweet baby girl

Is that the sweetest face you've ever seen or what? We hope that Raegan stays as content as she has been. She is a very peaceful baby... until she gets hungry. We still can't decide who she looks like and if her hair will stay red. I guess that time will tell.

I'm so happy

This is Raegan when she is trying to go to sleep. I'm not sure what she is dreaming about while drifting off, but it sure makes her happy. She's probably thinking about her next meal!

Growing like a weed!

After one week, Raegan already weighs more than her birthweight. She was 6 lbs 14 oz on Thursday. She definately has an appetite like her mama! She grins all the time when she is drifting off to sleep, and loves to cuddle with her dad in the mornings. Life is definately different around the Roop house, but it's a wonderful change. Do you think she has her mama's hair?

Raegan's here!

Raegan Estelle Roop arrived on July 5, 2006 at 4:44 p.m. She weighed in at 6 lbs. 12 3/4 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long.
We arrived at the hospital at 7:30 that morning, but didn't actually start the induction process until around 10:00. They administered whatever drug they used to start my contractions around 10:30. I got my epidural about 2:00, and then my doctor came in and broke my water about 2:30. After he broke my water, I progressed from 3 cm to 9 cm in about 45 minutes. Things moved really fast from that point on. Raegan's heart rate dropped from a normal 150 beats, to 50 beats for about 3 minutes which had everyone on the floor in a panic. They paged my doctor out of a c-section to come and deliver my baby, but by the time he got to our room, Raegan's heart was back up to normal. I continued pushing for the next 30 minutes or so and at 4:44... Raegan finally made her entrance into the world. God was very gracious to us, because she was wrapped up in her cord 3 times, and the outcome could have been much different. We had lot's of people praying for all of us, and it payed off. She is doing great!

4 days to go!

My buddy Ellie took a picture with me at Jackie's cookout. I've just got 4 days to go in this picture. I'd really love to know what has Dot so excited. ha ha

Pregnant together

Not that you can tell, but Sonya is pregnant in this picture too... about 17 weeks. Here, I only have 1 1/2 weeks to go. It's a little easier to tell that I'm pregnant!

The mom and dad to be 6 weeks before baby Raegan is scheduled to arrive. Do we look nervous yet?
