The much talked about movie has mixed reviews though mostly negative. I finally caught it on the 2nd week of its running and find that its an enjoyable and a good movie. A fellow colleague who's a catholic agreed that it is a good movie if you take it strictly as a fiction. Many failed to do that.
The movie has interesting story base on facts and theories. It takes a bit of effort to follow the plot as it require some time to digest and understand. Nevertheless, it was an interesting journey following the clues.
Facts and theories, some true, some questionable, when mixed may causes confusion or misunderstanding. The Christians and Catholics took the effort to publish newsletters and booklet to address this issue. And some went on demotrations to urge people to boycott the movie. I thought that added the publicity to the movie.
Like Tom's character in the movie said, "Believe what you choose to believe." To a certain extend, if your faith is so easily influence, it is questionable what kind of a fellower are you.
Anyhow, I liked the movie, its worth 4/5.

Movies
Good shows I've seen since CNY..
1. Fearless - Jet Li's last martial art movie. Its Goood! Good story, good choreography.
2. North Country - Charlize Theron. Golden Globe and Oscar nominee, Good actress, chio bu, good story, touching ending. Warning for rape scene and sexual harrassment. Will cause one's blood to boil.
3. Brokeback Mountain - Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Director Lee Ann, Golden Globe winner, Oscar nominee. Enough to make you want to check out this movie. But it is definitely not for homophobics. Warning for gay intimate scene, including sex. However, it is a very touching story, very well directed, edited and filmed. Beautiful scenary. I didn't understand the intense of the love between the 2 machos in the beginning but I cried a bucket load at the end.
With Oscar's round the corner, there's loads of good movies to catch.
Walk the Line, Munich, Capote, Syriana, Jarhead, Constant Gardener. That's approx. $60.
