Happy Halloween

This morning the kids were being so naughty and I was seriously tempted to put an end to all of our planned Halloween activities. As usual they started behaving after several threats to not go trick or treating tonight so we were able to go ahead with our planned activities. First up was our pumpkin pancake lunch with a few friends. I made actual pumpkin pancakes in the shape of pumpkins and Anne brought a bunch of candy for the kids to decorate them with. The kids seemed to enjoy it, well the candy at least. I think Mason was the only one who actually ate the pancake and not just the candy.

Emily and her 3 boys were dressed up to go show their grandma their costumes when we called her to come have pancakes so she turned around and came to join us!
Later this evening we headed to the church for the kids first Trunk-or-Treat.
Landon and his matching pumpkin.
We were in such a hurry to get there that I forgot the kids's buckets so Steven let us out and ran back home to get them. The parking lot filled up fast and there were a lot more people there than I thought there would be. Steven stayed in the car and handed out candy while I took the kids to get candy. They made out like bandits and we left just before we ran out of candy to hand out.

When we got home we had pizza for dinner before taking the kids trick or treating around the neighborhood.
We had to raid their candy from the the trunk or treat though so we had something to hand out. When it got dark we came home and the kids played for awhile before heading to bed. In the end it was a fun day, but it sure did have a rough start.

Mummy's Little Monster

I just had to take some pictures of Landon in his "Mummy's Little Monster" onesie, after all this is first Halloween!
Check out those rolls on his legs!! I love them!
Emma gets a little jealous when I start taking pictures of just Landon, so she decided to lay down next to him and show him a transformer.
Not sure he knows what to think of her lying by him.

Painting Pumpkins

I was cut from work today so we got to have an extra day together as a family. I've still been kind of bummed that we didn't get to carve pumpkins with the kids, but at the same time didn't really feel like dealing with the mess of carving pumpkins so we decided to paint pumpkins instead. Not sure that painting was really less messy than carving, but it was still fun. Mason wanted to paint Curious George and he did a really good job, but then decided to paint the whole face and it started looking less like a monkey.
Emma wanted to paint a little pony so I traced it out for her and painted the outlines before turning her loose. She started out painting in the lines, but that quickly faded into painting a big purple mess.
At first I wanted to stop her, but then quickly caught myself and just enjoyed watching her have fun.
I chose to keep it simple and just paint a funny face on my pumpkin, while Steven chose to spray paint an Elmo face on his.
Landon was pretty content to watch from the swing for most of it.
Emma somehow managed to get paint all over her face.
We had an extra pumpkin so I let the kids share it and each paint a picture on it.
Mason wanted to paint a Batman and did decent job at staying in the lines I drew.
You can't tell it, but Emma's was supposed to be the Wonder Woman sign which turned into a big blue mess.
It was a fun family night and I loved watching our kids enjoy themselves.
I painted this green pumpkin for Landon, it's Mike Wazowski from Monster's Inc. which is what his costume is this year.

Landon at 3 Months

The last 3 months have seriously gone by so fast and our little guy just keeps on growing. It amazes me to see how much he has changed.
His little personality is really starting to shine through lately. He is always smiley after he eats and is so so close to laughing. He squeals a little when he gets happy, but just hasn't gotten that laugh out yet.
He is still eating every 4 hours at 8-12-4-8 and through the night he is down to 1 feeding usually between 3 and 4. He nurses for about 15-20 minutes or takes about 5 oz at each feeding. He does still spit up quite a bit after each feeding, but obviously is not having any problems gaining weight.
He is starting to track with his eyes better and seems to be able to see farther away now. He shows a very small amount of interest in toys now, but of course can't hold them yet. He does like to lay on the mat and look at his toys. So far he has not been a fan of the bumbo chair.
He absolutely LOVES his baths in the big tub and he is hilarious to watch. He kicks and splashes non-stop and is so happy the entire time he is in the water.
He continues to hate his car seat, just like his siblings did. He likes the bouncer and the swing though. He still likes to be swaddled as long as he has at least one arm out. If he has both arms out though he just wakes himself up. He has been sleeping from about 8:45 pm till 8 am with just the one night feeding. However he does start to get restless about 6:30 and needs his pacifier several times. Some mornings he still ends up next to me on my pillow so that we can sleep a little longer.
Emma wanted in on his photo shoot this morning.
We are so in love with this little boy and just wish time would slow down so we could just soak of up his baby days. Happy 3 months baby Landon.

Pumpkin Walk Part 2

Once we finished the pumpkin walk they got to stop by and visit the "witch" who gave them a treat.
On the way there we stopped to see if they were as tall as Despicable Me.
Emma getting her treat.
After getting their treat there was a small playground that we played on for awhile. We finished the pumpkin walk quicker than expected so we had some time to kill before snack time and heading back to the preschool.
Emma was loving playing with all the big kids.
Our last stop before snack time was visiting these wood cutouts painted as different characters that the kids could put their faces in.
Mason as Bob the Builder
In the Back to the Future car.
Emma as an astronaut.
Our Cinderella, and Mason peeking out by the side.
The kids also had fun throwing leaves at each other.
It was a fun trip and I'm so glad that I was able to go with him. It was also fun to get to know some of the other parents there, even though I probably won't remember their names tomorrow!

Pumpkin Walk

This morning I had Whitney come watch Landon while Emma and I went on Mason's preschool field trip to the Pumpkin Walk with him.
It was fun to be there and see him interact with his class mates. He was paired up with his friend Rylan and that's who rode in our car with us. It became very apparent to me on our car ride to the Pumpkin Walk where Mason has picked up some of his naughty words. In the first couple of minutes I heard Rylan say the words, stupid, loser, and sucker. Needless to say I am NOT impressed with his choice of a best friend. Anyhow, it was a cold day, but the pumpkin walk was fun for the kids to see.
I may not love the actions of his friend Rylan, but I have to admit that they were pretty cute together.
