Our New Addition

Well it has been a long time since our last post, I am sorry that we have not been very good about keeping up with our blog. As you can see we have added a new member to our family and he is definitely a keeper!! Chay joined our family in April and the kids are so excited that he is finally here, (Kyle and I are too)!! We have been very busy these last 3 months. It seems like things might slow down, then they just get worse. Well maybe with a little time off I might be able to keep up with the blog a little more frequently!

Pick-up For Sale!!
Yes, Kyle has finally decided that he wants to sell his pick-up!! The kids want to know why he does not like their pick-up any more, because they still love it! Oh what children don't understand but some day will. I told him that was fine it is HIS pick-up that I never get to drive it because I may let the kids eat in it, and forbid there be any crumbs of any sort on the floor. I just helped pay for it and my name is on it, but it is HIS pick-up!! The joys of husbands are wonderful.

Oh Well!!

So much for keeping up and posting on a regualar basis. It has been a crazy summer for all of us. Just as I think it is getting better Kyle has to go and sign us up for THINGS!! This last week our ward held a merit badge counselor training for those that would be interested in becoming certified for merit badges. Our brother - in - law who is also in our ward talk to Kyle about going with him. So they attend this meeting, (stupid me not knowing much about scouts thinks nothing of it) at the end of the meeting the counselor doing the training ask for each person in attendance to sign up as a counselor for certain merit badges. So of course Kyle, I am sure was first in line, signs up for Snow Sports (go figure he can now have an excuse to go skiing or snowboarding more often). Then he procedes to sign up for First Aid (his comment "How hard can it be I live with a Nurse.") little did he know that now he has to attend the decons scout camp in two weeks so that they can pass off First Aid. So as I was laughing at him he informs me that the Boy Scouts have a rule that you have to have two Adult leaders when you pass off a young man and that he signed me up as his helper. So much for that. Oh Well!!!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Today is our 9th anniversary (we have been together for 13 years) it does not seem possible. Anyway I forgot! how terrible is that. I really thought that tomorrow was our anniversary even after writing the 13 yesterday several times. So I left for work today and about 10:00 am I remembered and thought that I would call Kyle and tell him. ( We did not see each other this morning before parting ways). We got really busy at work and I totally spaced calling him. When he came home tonight he was somewhat grumpy and I asked him if something was wrong and he said "Thanks for telling me Happy Anniversary!" He had to go to mutual and I made him a nice dinner while he was gone, and he really enjoyed it. (I told him to enjoy because I probably would not cook the rest of the week:) Well any way Happy Anniversary Kyle!!!

Snack Attack!!

Well I am sitting here stuffing packets for a Women's Fair that I will be attending and representing Pampered Chef and thought that I would share this recipe that we will be giving everyone!! I thought that everyone might enjoy!!!

Warm Nutty Caramel Brownies

1 teas vegetable oil
1 -12 oz package of semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 -18-21oz package brownie mix (plus all ingredients to make cake like brownies)
3/4 cup packed brown sugar (divided)
1 cup salted mixed nuts
5 rolls or 40 pieces Rollo candy.
Vanilla Ice Cream

Preheat oven to 375.

1. Lightly brush pan with oil. Chop 1 1/2 cups of choc chips. Combine brownie mix, water, oil, eggs and 1/4 cup of the brown sugar mix well. Fold in chopped choc chips; pour batter into pan, spread evenly.
2. Chop nuts. Combine half of the nuts and remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar; sprinkle evenly over brownie batter. Bake 20-22 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
3. Meanwhile, cut 16 Rollo's into quarters. Place remaining 1/2 cup choc chips in a bowl; microwave on HIGH for 1 minute or until melted, stirring after each 20 second interval. Spoon melted choc into resealable plastic bag; set aside.
4. Remove brownies from oven. Immediately press remaining 24 carmel's evenly into brownie in four rows of six carmel's each. sprinkle quartered carmel's and remaining nuts over brownies. Trim corner of choc filled bag; Drizzle chocolate evenly over brownies. cut into squares; serve warm. Serve with Ice Cream, if desired.

I hope you enjoy they are really easier than they sound. We love to make them a little to much. (our hips are showing it!!)

I Look Like my DAD!!

It is always fun to have new Mom's come in for their 6 week check-up and bring their new baby!! Some of course are always funner to see than others :) A couple of weeks ago Kyle and I were at the Cal-Stores and one of my patients happen to be shopping at the same time as us and has just recently had a new baby. I am always curious to see their new baby. So I head over to say hello and tell her congratulations on her new addition and assume that Kyle will follow or go his own way. That day Kyle follows me over her way. I tend to forget to introduce him, every once in a while. As he patiently stands behind me this patient all of a sudden says "OH my is that your husband?" I reply "Oh ya this is my husband Kyle and our two kids." She then proceeds to go on "Well you can definitely tell that he is their dad there is no denying that!" It always seems to make his day that his stamp has been placed upon my children!!
