NEW CAR!!!

OK so its not brand new, but it's a new car for me! Finally. I bought a 2005 Ford Escape XLT. I wanted to buy another Ford since my little Escort has lasted me so long. I will miss my good ole car! We have been thru a lot. i got that car in San Diego when I lived out there. My sister and I drove it cross country back to Cincinnati when I moved back home. But now that Im 30 and getting married.. time for a bit of an upgrade. Ill miss ya girl!

Joy to the new SUV! I don't like the idea or driving a gas guzzler, but the Escape gets very good milage and I really need something for the doggies. The 6 disc CD changer doesn't hurt either!

Its My Birthday and Ill cry if I want too!!!

HAHA! No crying! Im 30!! Well I guess I don't feel any different except for the fact that I now have to say "30" when people ask how old I am. YUCK! But Ill get used to it. Last year was a really fun year, and this year I can tell is going to be filled with lots of new adventures. I am planning for the wedding and everything that comes with that- showers, bachelorette party, shopping...and many of my friends are getting pregos either for the first time or second. So lots of fun celebrating! We are hopefully going to be selling the house and looking for a new and Im really excited to experience new things with Dex! My niece and nephew are changing every day and will be turning one soon! So lots going on this year! Im excited to see what the future holds! I have more things on my list that I still plan to do but just didn't get it in in time so Ill be extending my time limit for a little longer! But I think I did pretty good with getting a lot of them done! Dirty thirty! Good Times a head!!!!

Go sledding

OK so I didn't completely go sledding. But we finally got some real snow. About 6-7 inches where I live so I took the dogs out and we played in the snow. I think this weekend I will have more luck actually sledding. Dexi loves the snow he runs and jumps and then gets Bear going. They are so fun but I can't wait for summer so that Dexi can really experience fun weather.

New camera-take cool pictures

So I finally got a new digital camera! I love it and I have been learning to manual control the shutter, light, focus etc.. Much different than the manual camera I had back in the 90's in my photography classes, but still fun. We just had a huge snow storm so I took some picts from that and of course some of the best subjects: my beautiful doggies.

Play the Lottery

For the first time I played the Ohio Lottery! I think a long time ago I went with my Mom.. but this is the first time I did it alone. I think the busy people at BP were a little annoyed with me but the man was nice enough to help me after I wasted 3 tickets. We did not win Monday night, :( And I didn't check the Mega Millions last nigh,t but Im pretty sure the odds are against me. But it was fun to finally watch the balls on tv and play along! Here are the tickets next to my glass of wine for support and a blurry pict with Dex. I think the tickets look better on him since he's so darn cute!

Make soup/chili in the crock pot

Since the weather has been FREEZINGGG I thought perfect time for some chili! I was at Kroger unexpectedly with Doug so I took this as my chance to get the goods. I came home and made the best batch of chili! I was really proud of myself. We finished it all. Since it is just Doug and I, I used the baby crock pot. I forgot to take a picture of the pot full so this is it empty. Looks kinda gross so I tried not to get to close.. But it was really yummmy!

Run A Race

The annual Thanksgiving Day Race in downtown Cincinnati was November 27th, Thanksgiving morning. This is my third time doing the 10K (6.2 miles). I very much enjoy this race and the course b/c it goes thru downtown and New Port and over some of the bridges. Its pretty scenic which helps keep my mind off any pain! :) I went again with my brother and Brett (Alissa's brother) who are avid runners and try to beat their last years times of 30 and 40 minutes or something around that. Yikes! Im still trying to get under 60 minutes. If I wasn't sick for so long I think this could have been the year, but I hardly ran close to 4 miles even close to training for the race. But oh well I gave it my best, and thanks to nice weather and my ipod I got a time of 61 minutes. Not bad and beating my last year's time by a big minute! We didn't have Alissa with us this year to help take pictures so I took a few of myself while waiting in the warm car before the race. My phone camera seems to create a fun house effect so I think I look very strange with BIG googly eyes but it's something. Next year in under 60 minutes!!!
