The day has come. It's time for me to leave Singapore. As is my habit, I am blogging from the airport terminal. *grins* I hope I won't be too homesick. Security clearance was a chore, the interviewer not being very nice or flexible. Had to fill up answer lots of questions and fill up a form before I was allowed to check-in.
Well, at least I'm in now. Didn't want the "goodbyes" to drag for too long, as I fear that I might cry if it took too long. I know my mom was already starting to tear as I was hugging her goodbye. I'll miss you, mama and papa. Take care.
Had a pleasant surprise before I entered immigration. I met Siew Jun. Actually, it was more like he spotted me and called out. I didn't even know that he's back in Singapore already.
Okay, I'm going to board the plane soon. Only have about 6 mins left of free internet anyway. I'll post again once I get the chance. Take care folks. Will miss you all.

...And I'm scared...
It's 10days to D-day. And yes, I'm seriously in panic mode. I don't feel ready for this. Maybe it's because I'm not going to University of Minnesota straight but travelling first. There's a sense of insecurity and uncertainty. I mean, at least if I'm going to Minneapolis straightaway everything is planned out for me and I don't have to think of my own programmes, logistics, transport etc. However, because I'm doing some travelling first, I have to plan for everything before arriving at the campus itself. Also, I would have to travel (for the second time in a month) to Minneapolis and the school campus or housing alone. Maybe if my friends or someone more familiar with the place picks me up from the airport, it wouldn't be so bad.
Well, it's not all bad (I think). I'm excited too. I've never been away from home for longer than 3 weeks and this will be a new and exciting experience. And for the first time, I would have to learn how to live on my own. I'll get to meet people from everywhere, get to try new things, get to see snow. Maybe I can experience their nightlife, where I would be legally old enough to drink by then. Hehe. Of course, it's important to keep in mind Papa's naggy but appropriate slogan "zi ai". I guess that will apply to everything I do, not just the partying. (Partying reminds me of what Mic said about me. Something along the lines of "partying" and "gina" don't really go in the same sentence. Hmm..)
Anyway, it's back to my preparations. Cleaning up my room before leaving. Coming up with packing list. Researching on NY. Settling all unsettled matters.

21 Years of Summer
Hi everyone,
For those still unaware, I am going on exchange come Jan 2007 (where have you been man?). This blog is created specially for me to post my exchange adventures. I will probably include some events during my preparation phase as well (if I'm not too lazy).
The reason why the blog is called 21 Years of Summer is because I would be turning 21 just about the time I reach the US, deep in its freezing winter. In addition, Minneapolis, Minnesota, where I'm headed to, is known to have one of the fiercest winters in the US (av. temp. -12 degrees celsius in Jan). So, after spending close to 21 years of my life in equatorial Singapore, with its sunny "summer" weather, I am going to embark on a freezing cold adventure.
Wish me luck!
