No more bad stuff (You hold me now) - Hillsong London -
Finally back to Brunei after 5 weeks of being in London. Rest for a few days, and then it's off to Singapore on Sunday.
I'm actually quite tired of travelling :(
The song featured in the title above is playing in my head eversince I heard it on Sunday in Hillsong London church. For me, it talks about hope. Hope in God. Which is what I really need to remind myself of lately. After being to two church services on Sunday (KT and Hillsong London), I realised how much I miss worship, both individual worship and coming together as a church to worship. Having that one common theme when everyone gathers together - God.
Soon, it will be a new year. For some it already has been. I've got some goals for the new year - and I wouldn't call them new year resolutions (cos they don't usually work for me!). There are some things I've realised about myself that I want God to change, as He moulds me. It's not easy, denying yourself and picking up the cross daily. But I know with His strength and new mercies everyday, I am able.
The cross before me, the world behind.
To live for Him alone.

Wee Wee -
It was fun doing all those touristy thingees - catching the green tour bus that takes us round the city. Finding places to eat - and mind you, it's not that cheap dining in Paris! I love the food though - but then again, I always love food :) Food pictures are on my facebook if you want to see.
I can't believe it's been 5 weeks now that I've been in London. We had turkey, pizza, pasta and some greens for Christmas eve dinner the other night. YUMMY! Not mom's turkey specialty, but it's good nonetheless. :) (Again, pics are on my facebook - uploaded by my bro - he wants me to mention that the photos were all taken by him and his Nikon D90 - copyright issues I guess =P )
It's Boxing Day. Family wants to go out to the streets of London again - some humungous sales they are having today - not that I'm a big fan of shopping; especially if it means you have to survive the big crowd that stretches endlessly.
In a few days, I'll be on the plane home to Brunei. Funnily enough, I'm starting to get used to the life in London.
I better get ready. Still in my PJs and everyone is dressed.
Oh, and did I mention I got myself a Macbook?

Digging deep -
Today I was reading a devotional on digging deep. It talked about two pear trees in an orchard. It was an excessively dry summer and one of the pear trees was unaffected and remained fresh and green and yielded luscious pears. The other tree did not do well - it's leaves turned yellow, the fruit shriveled and appeared dead. Then came the rains and the ground was soaked with moisutre. The tree sprang back to life and was soon covered with leaves and burst into full bloom! Soon it was autumn and then the frost, and the tree bore no fruit. The other tree was loaded. What was the difference? The one tree had its roots deep in the soil where it found water. The other had shallow roots - and depended on the uncertain rains for its fruit.
I know this story is familiar to some or many, but it reminded me of my walk with God. Am I like a tree that has its roots dug deep into the underground streams of the word of God or do I depend on the showers of circumstances? It's easy to forget about abiding in God when we get caught up in the whirlwind of life's events. I am guilty of doing that all the time - letting myself get caught up with the busy-ness of life and forgetting my First Love.
I desire to dig deep. I am not content with the little spurts of growth in my life, only to be forgotten after a while. God deserves so much more than this.
Here I am

Rain Man -

Tonight I watched RainMan. =)
(I still can't believe I was in the same room as Josh Hartnett - felt so surreal)
The acting was amazing. Of course, they had to modify bits and pieces here and there, but overall, I enjoyed it. We almost couldn't go to watch it because the cheap tickets ran out online, but nonetheless, we managed to get some cheap-ish tickets to watch it tonight. I feel blessed. A good way to end the day after a long morning.
Nothing much to blog about - just to say that I saw Josh Hartnett live =)
