Finally, a break from school. It is week 8 and that is recess week. Time really flies. I have been a student for nearly 6 months. School is okay. I wouldn't say it is great but it beats working and serving national service. Also, I'm finally 21. No longer a minor. I can now sign legally binding contracts, which is good I guess. I hope to show some photos here soon.
I am doing some relief teaching during this one week break at my secondary school to earn some extra money. Some facts before I continue. I graduated from my secondary school in 2002. So, I have not been back to my secondary school for 5 years. Things there have really changed.
A lesson I learnt is that being a teacher is not an easy job. My first day of relief teaching and my respect for all my teachers has increased ten fold. Speaking to a group of forty students is not an easy task. With many of the students chatting away while you teach, speaking becomes shouting. Also, it saddens me to see that some of our young minds of tomorrow do not see the importance of education. Some really do take for granted the lessons the teachers are conducting. Friends of mine who did not attain a good quality education certificate, do regret not realising education's importance and make the extra effort then. I guess only time will tell what lies in Singapore's future.
I do not have any photos in this entry but I will make an honest effort the next time. Till then, ciao~

Then There Was 6
It is 6 more days before my 21st birthday. Time really fly past when you don't notice. I will be holding a small birthday party at my house.
The past week was quite monotonous. I went to the IT fair at Suntec last Sunday night, near to the closing time and there was still so many people around. I guess these people are waiting for the last minute when all the exhibitors will give the best deals to help clear the reminding stock they have. I wanted to buy some DVD-R to burn some of my American drama series but I didn't come across any booths that sold them.
If you haven been to Suntec recently, it is time to make a trip down. The management did a little make-over at the convention area. Something to look out for is the fountain near the new Gloria Jeans Coffee. The fountain makes use of water and special lighting to make the illusion that the streams of water are travelling upwards. I think the picture does not do the fountain much justice. You have to see it for yourself.

My desktop decided to show me some attitude and couldn't boot up. All the fans are running but there is no image at all. I guess it is the motherboard that has failed. I brought the whole box down to Sim Lim Square to seek professional help and as told to wait for the verdict in 2-3 days.
After that, GC and I went down to Suntec (again) to explore the Food Fair, Games Fair and Career Fair all at one go. The Food Fair wasn't that interesting. Most of the food were the kind that you can find at your local Pasar Malam (night market). The weird thing is that there were many booths promoting weight lost products.

I didn't know that there are quite a number of local firms that design and program computer games. The Games Fair saw a clash of the gaming heavyweights (i.e. Sony and Nintendo). Many exhibitors engage young models to man the booths. These models are just "eye candy". They are not able to explain the games they are promoting. The explanation are done by the "geeks" who have all the information at their fingertips.

I was quite pointless to go to the career fair. My friend and I was not looking for a job. Furthermore, I guess because of our age, most of the promoters didn't bother to entertain us.
Well, another week has gone by. I have got a quiz tomorrow and projects to present this week. My school recess week is coming up very soon. A needed break since I have been studying since April.
Till next week, Ciao!

Present
After a great deal of lazying around, I decided to get back to blogging. What a good way to restart my blog by a picture.

Any idea who does the figure looks like? Apparently, this figure is suppose to look like me. See any similarities to me? I don't. It is a gift from my parents for my upcoming 21st birthday. Well, it is the thought that counts.
I really wonder how many people out there still come by my blog. Do drop me a comment or something. Anyway, I will be discipline enough to constantly update this blog, even if it is with nonsense.
