All i want to say is a big Thank You to all the teachers for all the hard work they put in every day for every student...
Going back to my secondary school to visit my ex-teachers also gave me a chance to catch up with some of my ex-classmates... remembering days in Jurongville and the many pranks and mischief we have done made me realise how happy were my days in Jurongville... As we part our ways, i can't help but wonder when will we meet again. next year? two years later? or never again? each and every one of us have different things to done, different paths to travel. we really must be thankful for all the friends we have made along the way. No matter what, i want to really wish all my friends the best of luck and hope that we will meet again some day.

Life is Cruel
All the Olympic fever has got me thinking... Is the world a cruel place to live in? We only get one chance in everything we do... no matter how good you are during practises, if you fail in the actual competition, you will not get a second chance... all that matters is your performance in the competition... even if you are too sick, too tired or injured on the actual competition... Are you too cruel? too strict? too heartless? The "make-it-or-break-it" thingy is to the disadvantage to those who cannot perform under stress... should we change our way of judging how good a person is? scrap examinations, competitions and tests? ...ponder about it....

Singapore Idol : A Total Letdown?
As I tune in to the Singapore Idol now, i wonder... Is it a total waste of our time? The singers are really disappointing.... sad but true... do we really want an idol with weak vocals? the judges really try too hard to sound like their american counterpartss... the budget for the show seems to be too little.... the stage seems old and lack a sense of creativity.... it does give me an impression of the talentime shows in the early 80s...
economically, i wonder whether the Singapore idol will be very successful? Singapore is only a very small market and will we able able to create an idol each year like the americans should the show be successful?
To me, Singapore Idol is a total letdown... at least for now...

private housing blues
writing this post after reading ah ben's blog ... he was talking about how people like to comment about someone if one is living in a private estate. i don't think that living in a private house will always mean that someone is very rich.. We still eat what most people eat, do things most people do and buy what most people buy... the only differemce is that we live in a slightly bigger house... in my case, it is not as if i have never lived in a HDB apartment before in my life... i spend the first 12 years of my life living in a 4-room HDB apartment... just because living in a HDB apartment is the norm, does not mean that living in a private house is VERY different... enough said...
this morning was the maths mock test... i was really unprepared for it... i left some of the questions totally undone... i forgot everything taught about AP and GP, vectors and complex number... this test really make me realise that i should really settle down and start studying... Really studying... there is only 60+ days before the 'A's and i don't want what is happening today to repeat... still, i hope i can at least clear today's test... *fingers crossed*
btw, i'm at weili's house blogging.. haha...

econs seminar / MRT accident
Attended an economics seminar today at nanyang poly in the morning. the speakers were quite exciting, especially the first and last speakers. Got a better understanding and hope to apply this new found knowledge into my essay writing.
Was further disappointed with my econs teacher today.. she told us that we must wear uniform today as everyone will be wearing uniform. but to my surprise, the majority of the student attended the seminar in home clothes and some were even from JJC..
Took the MRT back home. As the train approaches Bukit Batok station, the train suddenly brake and people were saying that someone was knock down by the train. Passengers on the train including me had to evacuate from the train and I was forced to take a bus back home. The evening reported that the person knock down was a 47-years-old army officer and that he suffered some minor injuries. He is very lucky to be alive. I thought that the person will not survive as the train was travelling at a very high speed when it entered the station..
What a day!

disappointed
very disappointed with my economics teacher's attitude today. she should be more professional in her behaviour... if she is unhappy with our performance in her subject, she should tell her directly in our faces and not hide in the staff room playing a hide-and-seek game... in my eyes, i cannot respect you the way i used to... sad.

Happy 39th Birthday Singapore!
today is national day... singapore's 39th birthday.... our family celebrated today with a family bbq... watching the national day parade every year makes me feel a sense of pride to be a Singaporean... only 39 years and we have achieved so much....
saw my ex-choir conductress, Ms Chung on tv during the parade... she was leading the combined schools' choir... on my first look, i couldn't believe my eyes... in my head i was thinking, "isit her? cannot be what... but this person really looks like her"... only when i saw her name in the closing credits for the parade then i could really believe it....
