Harry Potter..

Been very bored lately... Sitting around doing nothing.. So, I took out all my Harry Potter books and begin rereading them. I'm now at the fouth book. The books are very interesting! Can't put it down once you started. Nothing much to update anyway.. Still the same....

P.S. this is my favourite quote from the Harry Potter books.

- "It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities"

Bigbirdians

Hung out with the bigbird gang yesterday. As usual, all of them were late. I was the earliest and I waited for 45 mins. Anyway, we caught the movie "Blade Trinity". I did not watch the first movie unlike my friends. Not being a fan of vampire, I did not expect too much from the movie. And true enough, I was not disappointed but the long and draggy scenes. However, I must agree that the action scenes are very well done with great camera angles. 2.5/5 popcorns.

After that we when window shopping and talk cock. Had a great time with all my friends. They share with my great memories of our secondary school days, all the nonsense and stupid jokes.

Shutter

When to catch "Shutter" at Plaza Singapura with Chia Wei and Gary yesterday. Had a great time together. It is nice to meet up and chat about stuff. Cannot believe that it has been 2 years since we all graduated from secondary school! The movie was okay. The storyline was quite weak. And reading the subtitles might be a little touble some. The lousiest thing is that all the screaming by the girls in the cinema took out the scary parts of the movie. They were screaming at each and every small thing. If you are a ghost story fan, this movie might not be suited for you. 2/5 popcorns.

Finally..

After 6 lessons, today is the first time I didn't stall the car engine during lesson. Hurray~ Suppose to go play manjong now but ben couldn't make it... Sianz... Rot at home again loh... Second week of December le.. Time really flies when you don't take note. The driving instructor asked me today what course I'm going to take in university and I didn't know what to tell him. The truth is that I don't even know it myself. I really want to enter the entertainment industry. Either doing movies or television programmes. But this means that I have to study something like mass communications in Uni. I don't mind. But I don't know if I can cope with it. Hai~ Better not think about it too much. At least not till I get my results. (Wonder how I'm going to fair) X Fingers crossed.

Hope to pass and get my license before entering army (which is 47 days away).

Talking about army, I found someone who is entering at the same time as me. lol. He is my cousin's friend.. Never met him before. So actually no difference loh...

Idol Fever

photo coutesy of www.starhub.com/idol

Idol fever in Singapore is over the roof. The first Singapore Idol will be crown in around 5 hours. Who will it be? Sly or Taufik? My guess is Taufik. Although I would really like Sly to be Singapore's idol, I think he has a slim chance. I will be rooted to the screen to see this final showdown. And lastly, remember to vote. x

The Incredibles

Great movie! Relieve all the stress build up in the "a" levels. The animation done by Pixar was great... Maybe a little to good until one feels giddy after watching the whole movie... Or maybe it is because i'm sitting too close to the movie screen... whatever... the plot was not too bad.. exciting moments throughout the movie makes The Incredibles much more fun too watch. 3.5/5 popcorns

HP

Picture coutesy of amazon.com

Today, after many months of waiting, I'm now own a copy of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban dvd. Haha.. can't wait to see all the exclusive footage. Can't believe that all the HP fans out there have to wait another year of Movie 4. And where is Book 6??????

Arghhhh...

Finally..

After 2 years of kindergarden education, 6 years of primary education, 4 years of secondary education and 2 years of tertiary education, here i am. With the last physics paper completed and submitted, the 'a' levels have offically ended. Sadly, I don't feel happy. Relieved maybe but not happy. This is the first point in my 18 years of life where I am uncertain of my future. It used to be easy. Primary to Secondary to Junior College. Haiz~

Anyway, better enjoy the freedom for now. Enjoy yourselves ok? Have fun before the pressure of the real world comes knock on your door.

To my cousin, don't be too upset about your PSLE results. All will be fine. The results does not matter. The only important thing is that you did your best.

Ciao~

PW changes

The government has decided to change PW assessment criteria.

In today ST,
>The government is refining the assessment of Project Work in the Junior College curriculum. From next year, the number of assessment criteria will be reduced significantly. Each student will be required to submit no more than three documents for assessment. The scope of the PW tasks will also be broadened, to give students greater flexibility and choice in shaping their projects.

Why is the changes always so late? First, it was social studies... Now, it is project work... Sianz~

The O.C.

This is one of the shows I'm catching now. It is a major hit in the US and they will be airing season 2 this week. Singapore is currently showing season one, every week on Thursday at ten. It is coming to the end of the season already. There is no word whether Channel 5 is showing season 2. I hope so... The show is based in Orange County in California. It is a region where the rich and famous live. Sadly, under this thin veneer, lies many dark secrets. It is a great show. You should catch it.
Below are the photos of the cast. Enjoy~

National Novel Writing Month??

National Novel Writing Month - National Novel Writing Month

Came across this site when reading one of my friends blog. I cannot believe that people around the world get together in Nov to write a 50,000 word novel. Yes, you heard me. A 50,000 word novel. Unbelievable right. At least these people are practising English. Can it be considered literature? I don't know. Anyway, maybe I will try writing next Nov... Who knows... It is a mad world out there! Enjoy~

America Votes ' 04

After a long and tiring battle, it is now down to the state of Ohio. With 20 electoral votes, the winner of this state will also be the president of the United State for the next 4 years. I attached the latest map to show you the results (if you have not already known). Red for Bush and Blue of Kerry. The number of votes this election was also record-breaking, which is not surprising. I think all the television ads encouraging people to come out and vote was a success.

The 'A's start tomorrow so I will be going to bed now. Wish me luck for tomorrow!

Shocked!

Was very bored.. so meddled with my web cam... enjoy!

Shocked!

US Presidential Elections

One of the major political events of the world will be happening this week. It is the US presidential elections. If you do not know any thing about this issue, where have you been? Well, the fight between Kerry and Bush will be a close one, with both sides having a great number of supporters. If I can vote, I will be voting for Kerry. In my opinion, Bush did not do well during his term as a leader of a superpower. The Iraq war saw very poor planning and foresight, resulting in a large number of American and allied soldiers died or injured. I am not fully supporting Kerry as I do not full agree with the policies and ideas proposed by him. I just believe that it is time for some new blood to lead the US. Anyway, neither my opinion nor view is important. What is important is that all Americans, whether old or young to vote on Tuesday. Do not leave the future of your country in the hands of others. All the best to both presidential candidates!

Ladder 49

Went to Suntec to watch "Ladder 49" today. It was a great movie, paying tribute to all the firefighters around the world who put their lives on the line of duty everyday to save lives. The movie did not take any dull moments. The flashback method used by the director might put people off as it made the movie just a little confusing. The only down side is that there was no happy ending. Well, if you have a few dollars to spare, this is a good movie to catch. 3.5/5 popcorns.

22 Jan 2005

That is the date of my NS enlistment.. The letter came in yesterday.. Posted to Pulau Tekong BMTC2.. my feelings? well, i don't know... happy that it is not in dec but also sad that the date seems so close... cannot imagine myself wearing an army uniform, serving my country, fulfilling my national duty.. Well, i tell myself that it is a new experience that every male singaporean will have to go through.

I think i should be able to get my driving license by then. ( x fingers crossed x ) And i will be able to go on a short trip overseas.

'A' levels are round the corner.. physics practical exam is on the coming mon. shouldn't be a problem... just worried that the electical circuit might not work. I think i will end here. By the way, all the best to all! Try your best and don't give up k. :)

Problem?

I have a close friend who has a problem voicing out his opinion. And i often wonder if it is so difficult to voice your own opinion. just state which side you are on and why. Simply right!

If you cannot voice your opinion then you cannot comment or discuss.. then how are you going to get high marks for your essay and case-study? what the hell.. it is his problem not my. :P

Book Review: Sleepers

Sleepers by Loreanzo Carcaterra

An unforgettable true story of friendship, loyalty and revenge.

Lorenze, Micheal, john and tommy shared everything- the laughter and the bruises of an impoverished childhood on New York's violent West Side. Until one of thier pranks misfired and they were sent to a reformatory school.

Twelve months of systematic mental, physical and sexual abuse left the boys transformed forever.

eleven years later, one of them had become a journalist, one a lawyer - and two killers for the mob. In a chance encounter they came face to face with one of their torturers and shot him dead in front of several withnesses. The trial that followed brought the four friends together again in one last, audacious stand- and a courtroom climax as gripping as any John Grisham novel.

I saw the movie on Channel i and decided to read the book. The book is much better than the movie. But it is not for the faint-hearted. The book really portray true friendship between friends and how jail time, the abuse and the torture they suffered, changed these 4 innocent children forever. A very good book. Five Stars.

Moving on

No one who, in his or her wildest imagination, believes that something like this can happen. But on 11 September 2001, it happened. The terrorist attack at the World Trade Center Building in America resulted in many lives lost. After that day, the world was no longer the same place. It was longer a safe place. It was to be a major turning point in the fight against terrorism. Today, three years on, we may have picked up the pieces and move on. However, the emotion and physical scars will remain forever in our hearts, especially in those who lost their beloved. We have to cooperate between nations in the fight against terror. Cherish peace.

Day 2 for the Sep holidays.... when back to school for a econs talk by an ang moh, malcolm frost.... his lecture quite interesting... at least i didn't fall asleep throughout his 3 hour lecture... started the day with quite good mood but soon turned 180 degrees after HX shouted at me for no reason... quite disappointed about her reaction today... she was lucky that i was not in a bad mood. If not, i will make sure she will get back double of what she gave me, even when all the students in the lt are looking... hai~ she should learn how to control her temper... if she is not going to abmit her mistake then i can do without her as a friend... should not say more... i am getting angrier as i talk about her... Happy Teachers' Day

All i want to say is a big Thank You to all the teachers for all the hard work they put in every day for every student...

Going back to my secondary school to visit my ex-teachers also gave me a chance to catch up with some of my ex-classmates... remembering days in Jurongville and the many pranks and mischief we have done made me realise how happy were my days in Jurongville... As we part our ways, i can't help but wonder when will we meet again. next year? two years later? or never again? each and every one of us have different things to done, different paths to travel. we really must be thankful for all the friends we have made along the way. No matter what, i want to really wish all my friends the best of luck and hope that we will meet again some day.

Life is Cruel

All the Olympic fever has got me thinking... Is the world a cruel place to live in? We only get one chance in everything we do... no matter how good you are during practises, if you fail in the actual competition, you will not get a second chance... all that matters is your performance in the competition... even if you are too sick, too tired or injured on the actual competition... Are you too cruel? too strict? too heartless? The "make-it-or-break-it" thingy is to the disadvantage to those who cannot perform under stress... should we change our way of judging how good a person is? scrap examinations, competitions and tests? ...ponder about it....

Singapore Idol : A Total Letdown?

As I tune in to the Singapore Idol now, i wonder... Is it a total waste of our time? The singers are really disappointing.... sad but true... do we really want an idol with weak vocals? the judges really try too hard to sound like their american counterpartss... the budget for the show seems to be too little.... the stage seems old and lack a sense of creativity.... it does give me an impression of the talentime shows in the early 80s...
economically, i wonder whether the Singapore idol will be very successful? Singapore is only a very small market and will we able able to create an idol each year like the americans should the show be successful?
To me, Singapore Idol is a total letdown... at least for now...

private housing blues

writing this post after reading ah ben's blog ... he was talking about how people like to comment about someone if one is living in a private estate. i don't think that living in a private house will always mean that someone is very rich.. We still eat what most people eat, do things most people do and buy what most people buy... the only differemce is that we live in a slightly bigger house... in my case, it is not as if i have never lived in a HDB apartment before in my life... i spend the first 12 years of my life living in a 4-room HDB apartment... just because living in a HDB apartment is the norm, does not mean that living in a private house is VERY different... enough said...

this morning was the maths mock test... i was really unprepared for it... i left some of the questions totally undone... i forgot everything taught about AP and GP, vectors and complex number... this test really make me realise that i should really settle down and start studying... Really studying... there is only 60+ days before the 'A's and i don't want what is happening today to repeat... still, i hope i can at least clear today's test... *fingers crossed*

btw, i'm at weili's house blogging.. haha...

econs seminar / MRT accident

Attended an economics seminar today at nanyang poly in the morning. the speakers were quite exciting, especially the first and last speakers. Got a better understanding and hope to apply this new found knowledge into my essay writing.
Was further disappointed with my econs teacher today.. she told us that we must wear uniform today as everyone will be wearing uniform. but to my surprise, the majority of the student attended the seminar in home clothes and some were even from JJC..
Took the MRT back home. As the train approaches Bukit Batok station, the train suddenly brake and people were saying that someone was knock down by the train. Passengers on the train including me had to evacuate from the train and I was forced to take a bus back home. The evening reported that the person knock down was a 47-years-old army officer and that he suffered some minor injuries. He is very lucky to be alive. I thought that the person will not survive as the train was travelling at a very high speed when it entered the station..
What a day!

disappointed

very disappointed with my economics teacher's attitude today. she should be more professional in her behaviour... if she is unhappy with our performance in her subject, she should tell her directly in our faces and not hide in the staff room playing a hide-and-seek game... in my eyes, i cannot respect you the way i used to... sad.

Happy 39th Birthday Singapore!

today is national day... singapore's 39th birthday.... our family celebrated today with a family bbq... watching the national day parade every year makes me feel a sense of pride to be a Singaporean... only 39 years and we have achieved so much....
saw my ex-choir conductress, Ms Chung on tv during the parade... she was leading the combined schools' choir... on my first look, i couldn't believe my eyes... in my head i was thinking, "isit her? cannot be what... but this person really looks like her"... only when i saw her name in the closing credits for the parade then i could really believe it....

singapore fireworks festival

been to the fireworks display yesterday.... it was so beautiful.... but very short only... didn't feel like a 6-minute display... took a few pictures but it turned out not too nicely... only got a video clip of about 30 seconds.... thought of going this coming sunday to watch the final fireworks display... anyone interested? haha...

think

was reading this magazine, "think", on the mrt back home yesterday and saw this interesting article inside about the singapore taxi driver... the content was about the writer's experience taking taxis in singapore...

quotes from the article:

"The average taxi driver is definitely in need of help. Psychological help in some cases; others just need some basic lessons in driving."

"I normally hate making small talk. I would rather read a newspaper or stare out of the window. But in Singapore Taxis I prefer to keep the driver in conversation as this undoubtedly and without fail will keep him wide-awake. To start off the conversation say something stupid like,"hot day today" as if Singapore is any different from one day to the next. He will invariably turn the conversation around to asking where you are from and then talking about football and Liverpool or he will turn to the state of the economy. "No profit in taxi driving anymore, no customers and cars cost more to buy than ever before". This should keep him going for a half an hour or so, more than enough for the trip."

haha... after reading and giving the article some thought, i realise that what the writer was saying is quite true... maybe we are just stereotyping the singapore cab driver... who knows....

my progress report

got back my progress report today... disappointing results especially econs... hai!~!

Wednesday, July 7, 2004

air rifle is history

finally, after so long, today was the moe inter-school competition... sadly, JJC fared very badly this year... very disappointing... hai!~! alot of people under perform... maybe due to the stress... rot at Safra the whole day since i'm reserve... got chance to chase up on my holiday homework which was still undone...

some of the shooters who i thought to be able to get into the school team didn't make it... i was shocked and sad... exspecially for kY cause i always thought she was a very good shooter... don't know what is mr oh thinking... she feeling very down... cannot blame her... many of us train very hard to represent the school today... and informing someone that he or she is not shooting on the eve of the competition will cause people to break down... well, at least it is now over and all the ARC member can now concentate on our studies...

got my piano exam date and venue today... i'm posted to funan centre for my exams.... so far... the exam is on the 19/8 at 12.30.... hope to do better than last year.. last year only got a pass...

have been a long day... very tired... going to sleep early today... but still got amazing race 5 later... shit... arrgh... how?

i'm now very sick... presently having a very bad flu and sore throat... got mc for tomorrow leh.. so can catch up on my sleep which have been lacking since school reopened... actually i have been "holding back" this flu since the beginning of the school holiday leh.... i think maybe mentally i don't want to get sick... but now, with all the talk and nagging about the approaching 'A' levels, my body cannot seems to handle... today was very terrible.. i think i never used as much tissue in a day before... total 5 packets... my nose is like an open tap... the feeling is terrible.. at least now i can have a long weekend as monday is also a school holiday... but still have to continue doing gp essay outline... i'm still short of 20+

thought of changing the look of my blog... maybe should do it this weekend... but no promises.. today is also Xiang Yi's birthday.. Happy Birthday.. 18 liao... (that's to say that my birthday is coming le... at last)

have not been going for air rifle training this week.. but don't really feel guilty about it... after all, this is the last week of training and i confirm not in the school team... i in reserve... next week is the MOE inter-school competition... hope the air pistol team make it to the finals.. must jia you hor... especially Poh Sheng... don't be so stress then cannot shoot ok? you know very well that you are able to produce very good results one... dont know if Mr Oh is going to allow the reserves to skip lessons to go watch the competition anot...

cannot take it liao... have to go rest liao... tonight still got semi-finals between Czech and Greece... don't really know who will win... anyway i also not very interested in football...

blackout

shit lah... black out again... this is like the second time this year! It happened at around 2215.. was watching news on CNA when suddenly every thing when black... at first thought it was short circuit cause my house is having a major repainting job... but look out of the window everything was pitch black... come on lah... we have been paying our electricity bills puctually and diligently.. we expect better than this... at least the blackout did not last long. the power came back on at 2230 and it was time for bed for me... the cause of the blackout was a disruption in the natural gas supply from indonesia..

like i was saying, my house is undergoing repainting. today will be the last day.. my room is painted violet (don't ask me why). but in my opinion, it is rather nice... the ground floor is painted apple green... cannot stand the dust from all the paint and the shifting of funiture... lucky, for most of the time, i'm at school....

third day into the first week of school and i am die tired... all the catching up with homework and getting back into momentum during lesson are hard work... did not realise how long a 2-period lecture can be till today... the physics lecture was BORING.. could not get a thing into my brain and the time was crawling... terrible... at least there is the school holiday on monday for catching more sleep and completing of more holiday homework..

harry potter crazy

got hooked by harry potter... saw the movie on channel 5 on sunday and monday (2-part movie)... the movie was unbelievable... didn't know that harry potter was such a good movie... when to buy the first and second books written. (1. harry potter and the sorcerer's stone 2. harry potter and the chamber of secrets) completed the first book and is half way through the second one. J K Rowling is such a good writer. well done! she use simple language to explain many of the new things in the book such as the game quidditch. cannot believe that this book is written for children... but the movie a bit spoiler loh.. much of the book is not reflected in the movie and so some parts of the movie is uncomprehensive if you never read the book.. a point to note is that the actors in the movie is growing up very fast.. the girl acting the role of Hermione is becoming very beatiful... hehe.. got to catch the 3rd movie, harry potter and the prisoner of azkarban soon... got to get back to the books liao...

P.s. those of you out there who has not caught on to harry potter should do it soon.

after so long

finally here i'm... decided to blog after so long... many things happened this few days loh.. first was the changi naval base open house ka yee and i went last sunday.. the amount of people that turned up was unbelievable... maybe got ten over thousand of people.. saw weili and his friends there... can u believe it... went to the other end of Singapore and still see a person i come in contact with every day... arghh... the open house not very fun loh.. cause the heavy rain drenched our moods and the queues was terrible... spend like 1 hour queuing but at last did not manage to get on board because of the lighting threat, forcing all activities to stop... overall, i think the event was poorly organised and the organisers were not prepared for the huge cwords...

Monday and Tuesday were spent at air rifle and e club camps in school... got to know quite a few juniors from both clubs.. want to apologise to Yvonne for not helping her with the bbq food... i find that the camps should be longer... 2 days really not enough... the activities and games are not enough...

when to watch the day after tomorrow yesterday night with ka yee and weili... the movie has very good computer graphics but the story line was boring at some parts... i think the main purpose of this movie is just to create awareness of global warming and what are its after effects... maybe after watching this movie, more people will start to save our planet... i like the last sentence of the movie:" I have never seen the air so clean before."

approaching the end of the first week of the june school holidays le... so fast... holiday lessons are starting next week.. have to complete the tutorials... no time...

up and early

look at the time.... its 9+ only hehe... i dont always wake up so early on sundays cause it is my only day to sleep in late!!! well... woke up today got purpose one... i'm meeting ka yee later... we going to the changi naval base open house... get to see huge navy boats and submarines.... coolZ... but i hoping i will not be put in the navy for NS... actually, to think about it, being a navy officer must be a very boring life... sail out to sea and never set ashore for like 3 months?? nvm.... hope i enjoy my day.... but she still haven called... she went to our school's movie marathon yesterday... should have finished already what.... :P
next 2 days will be very busy cause got air rifle camp and e club camp together on the same days (mon and tue) hope can get to know my juniors and really have fun.. never have fun for a long time liao... maybe is because of jjc dull environment i have been facing everyday..
june holidays here le but i'm not excited leh... unlike previous times... maybe is due to the holidays lessons... why the school want to have lessons during the holidays? go lessons than cannot enjoy the holidays le what... hiaz~

you

what makes you think that you are the all mighty one... you are just like your mum... control freak.. demanding thet every thing must have your approval.. have you ever thought about it? relfect upon yourself... asking the same questions... you are afraid that one day in the near future, someone will take over your position as the head of the family... you are worried that your views will no longer be considered.. you feel the strain between you and your mu,.. you also have to realise the strain between you and me... i have been trying so hard to reach the inner you but to no avail.. maybe you should learn to admit yourmistake and try to accept a new way og doing things... learn to see things through others' eyes... what can be done and when... time and tide wait for no man...

best of both worlds

can we have the best of both worlds?? i really dont know.. this past months seems to fly past very quickly.. i am improving in my piano pieces... i think i told u many times.. didn't got scolded yesterday.. hoping to maintain this clean record... after next week will be 1 month liao... however, i realise that my air rifle standard is dropping.. isit because i didn't practise or is it beacuase i don't have that natural ability?? the "X" factor.... or maybe the saying is ture.. we cannot have the best of both worlds..

blog yesterday telling you that i'm not going for the sports carnival.. well.. i stick to it... heard from my friends that the principal got really angry that many students 'pon'... he threaten to take disciplinary action unless the student went back for the sport carnival... haha... i didn't went back... not because i want to challenge him but because i really got piano lesson in the evening... furthermore, the st*pid school didn't issue notice to the students and parents about the sport carnival... heard that the disciplinary action is physical training for the first 2 weeks of the june holidays... well, we will have to wait and see..

elaine's birthday on thursday... and i forgot to wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY... sorry girl just slip my mind, partly because there was no school...18 liao... can learn to drive car le... good luck for the year ahead.

learnt about my maths marks for the mid year exams liao... didn't perform very well.. but a least secure an "a".. got 44/60... that is i think 73%... huixin got the highest in the class.. 50+... mr lim said that we should be able to get our physics results on monday.. the class didn't do so well in the mcq section.. the class aveage only 15/30... sianz... the subject i worry the most is economics.. dont know how i did for my essay. *worried*

when out with josephine last thursday.. we when to IMM.... after that we meet suat lee with her boyfriend and chat for a while before heading home..

next week is week 10 of term 2 liao.. the "A"s are drawing nearer and nearer... help....

went to meet josephine yesterday.. she is still that care-free. joyous person...
parents ask me whether i want to go to bali during june.. should i?

last paper tomorrow (exam only three days only) physics... open book exam... we get to bring in ten sheets of paper for our notes.. i only prepared six sheets only.. i think is enough lah hor.. i think the questions will be difficult (x pray hard x)
my cca teacher is a very damning teacher... tomorrow right after exams must go for training at cdans... sianz... cannot go crazy and enjoy myself... still, thursday i will not be needing to go to school.. no exams.... wish me the best of luck okay?

the meaning of life

anybody thought about the meaning of life? we sit in front of the television sets to watch the evening news, hearing reports about people, innocent people, being killed in an accident, a sucide bombing or a shooting.. we become very immune to these news... but we dont realise that behind each person who got killed, each male, female, child, adult or elderly, they ech have a wonderful story about thier lifes. about their family, friends, hopes, dreams, successes, failures and regrets... regrets... things which they wish to correct, things to do for someone... words to say to a person..... regrets which they are unable to correct because their lives are being ended abruptly... without a peaceful ending, without a closure, without an ending..... a book written half-way and will never be completed... next time we hear about another killing of inoccent victims, can we think a little deeper.. feelling for the person... hoping for a better tomorrow, a better world... without killing, hatrad.... will there ever be this world? a world with peace? the answer may never be known...

here comes the weekends....

hurray... at last is a friday... although today got no official lessons but like the day very long... start the day by going to the library to study for econs test.. but the stupid library got no aircon.. so went to ask the librarian... she told me that the principal say cannot on the aircon until 10am as there are very few student using the library and it is not justified to on the aircon... i think he is just saving electicity lah... the canteen lights always off in the morning one... well, the librarian very good lady... she allow us to go up to the study corner above the library to study.. she also allowed us to on the aircon up there... must say a big thank you to her...
tomorrow is Kai Yan's birthday liao... she 19 this year... so old... hehe.... the class celebrated her birthday today during morning break.. brought her a slice of blueberry cheese cake and sang for her birthday song for a least 4 times... made all the people in the canteen crazy... we got a try the cake... well... around 10 people shared one small piece of cake... so unhygenie right... who cares... HAPPY BIRTHDAY KY!~!
econs test was a nightmare... we had to do essay section first... cannot finish in time.. got a lot of points to write but too little time... hope i can pass...
piano lesson today was terrible.. dont know why i am so afraid of playing in front of someone... i know i can play the songs cause i did practise before i when to her house... but in the end i froze... and like always, she scolded me loh... i think i getting used to it liao... lucky my scales today not too bad.. if not, i dont know want will happen... better go and brush up and polish my songs... the exams getting real close... aug...
tomorrow's labour day... can sleep late.. and enjoy myself... hurrah...
2 people died in the ayrah rajah accident... 1 singaporean and 1 foreign worker... with 2 such incidents in 2 weeks, it makes me worry about the safety of the construction sites in singapore... cant imagine what it will be like for the family of the unlucky one... in the morning chatting happily at the breakfast table and in the afternoon, he is gone... i think i will not be able to take it loh... well... life is short loh... so we must be happy for what we have today and not what we dont have... well... very tired liao... i will stop here...

long and tiring day

damn tired today so going to make things quick...
mr chow not feeling very well today so he predicted that he will not be coming tomorrow. hurray! but got extra essay outlines to write loh...
got back econs test today... lucky overall pass.. but the case-study realy very bad... i misinterpeted the first question and my biggest problem is that i don't use the data given to me in the source.. sigh...
maths was better. almost full marks.. i think is because the test was easy and not because i'm smart.. haha... now doing complex numbers II for tutorial... quite hard to understand..
had to do NAFA test again today... come as a bit of surprise but anyway... did not fair too good today... results are worse than last week.. the 2.4km run was.... i am now so sore that i don't feel like moving.. never run so hardworkingly before.. i only stop once this time around... like to thank steffi, ya chu, chui wah, wee teng, charis, etc who was so encouraging to run with me for the last few rounds.. even when it was raining and when they were free to go home.. thanks a million... happy to know that there is class spirit... after pe, a water cooler pipe burst and the whole area around the girls toliet soon became flooded... but teachers called upon ben to help off the tap (because he is the tallest among the group). He did off the tap successfully, stopping the flooding. but he was throughly wet...
got back my M1 mobile phone bill and the charges are well within my targeted range ($30.19). going to sleep so cause going to school early tomorrow to do my physic tutorial as i forgot to bring the tys back home... hope i can finish in time tomorrow.. the kind-hearted mr lim has already warn us that if we never do, he will chase us out of the class... so better go and zZz liao.. update you tomorrow...

why do you get so angry just because of one dirty canteen table?

well.. interesting title right... haha.. talking about my chinese educated principal. don't know why he got so angry during today's assembly... scolded the whole cohort of students and also the teachers (as usual). maybe he is having a bad day.. went on scolding about how we would not survive in the outside world with only two languages and how the chinese people are learning up to 3 languages.. then he told us to not laugh at him as he has survived in the west before.. he was educated in canada... so what man... what about all this you-have-no-future speech all of a sudden?? anyway, enough about him.
lessons went on as usual.. elaine was not here today.. i think she got stomach ache or something.. other then that, i think the day went smoothly and slowly... haha..
tomorrow have PE again... don't know if i have to retake my NAFA test again. i failed again, as usual.. i think this is my fourth or fifth time already.. sad right... yah...
better go and complete my GP essay outline.. still got 6 more to do and mr chow is going to check tomorrow... die... surely cannot complete one...
tomorrow also taking back the econs test which i took the week before last... hoping to at least pass ( i failed the last test)... wish me luck.

learning singapore's past

raining throughout the whole morning.. didn't want to wake up to go to school ... air rifle... just wanted to slack in bed.... but in the end, drag myself to school... air rifle again. quite sianz already... results still as bad.. didn't count the marks cause i know surely below average.. left early cause today not mr oh in charge... ms yap usually don't stay in the range so i sneak out at 11.30... chern hoe noadays never come training already... even if he does, he never pratice anymore.. i think he has given up hope on getting into the school team already.. cause rifle got 5 members and they will only need 3 shooters and 1 reserve in the competition... so he thinks he wouldn't even get into the reserve.. i a bit different.. not matter how bad i shoot, i will still be the reserve cause pistol only got 4 members... actually wanted to encourage chern hoe to train one.. but if i was him, i will also give up...
went out with weili in the afternoon.. we first when to the Singapore Philatelic Museum near the central fire station... entry fee $2... went in to see the history of singapore and stamps... nobody inside one.. we were the only persons viewing the exhibits.. not very interesting but only 2 dollars... cannot complain lah... after that, we went to view the civil denfence exhibition at the central fire station... nothing very interesting... but got to know that the firemen really use the firemen's lift during a fire in a building... if the building is above 15 floors, the fire is fought from within.. didn't know that...
after that we went back to chinatown again.. go out with weili surely end up at chinatown... when to have dinner.. in the end deceided on the soup restaurant along smith street. both of us never try before... the food was ok loh... but nobody eating one.. maybe we were early bah... 530... the place really very quiet.. they didn't play some music or something to break the silence in the place... the soup was really not bad loh... quite tasty.. can taste that they boil for many hours... after dinner then went to walk walk around chinatown and outram park area... then headed back home... when to jurong point ntuc before taking bus home.... the pasar malam in front of gek poh started already.. so went to walk before going home... the things all the same one... no wonder lesser and lesser people go to pasar malams...
just bath finish and here i am entering this blog loh.. well... nothing to add liao.. so ending here... back tomorrow...
...signing off...

Friday, April 23, 2004

the weekends are finally here...

quite an uneventful day... spend first 2 periods doing econs case-study on money and prices in library.. then spend one period of maths doing nothing except teaching weili how to do the vectors tutorial.. mr sia made a big mistake, telling chui wah that she failed her test. ended up chui wah went to the toliet to cry for the whole period.. after a while then mr sia realise that she never fail and tried to remedy the situation but was too late liao.. always wonder why women always so fragile... a little bit of set back and they will cry like there is no tomorrow.
got to recieve my progess report book today.. the results quite back.. B for maths, C for physics and E for economics... didn't think that i would get an E for my econs... was hoping for a D... my results drop quite badly from last year's promotional exams.. (last year i got A for maths, B for physics and C for econs) really must working hard to strive for a 'A's and 'B's liao... mid-year is around one month away... shit...
today's piano lesson was okay... tricia was in a very good mood. maybe the holiday did her some good.. unlike the bad-tempered, grumpy mid-age woman she was before that... but the fact is that she is really a good teacher... i can really feel myself improving... i can read music notes better and can catch hold of the expressions more easily... hope i pass the piano exams in august with at least a merit..
tomorrow air rifle training again.. stressed... dont know what will happen... why am i not improving in my results?? tomorrow training starts at 9 in the morning... going out with weili tomorrow after... not sure going where.. he actually wanted to go to a food exhibition at suntec but he say close liao...
going to off the computer soon... time to catch up on my american drama... update you again tomorrow..
...signing off...

Economics....

well well. finally my blog is up and running.
today quite a lousy day. Ms chin scolded the whole class on the first period of the day. so sianz. but her scolding made me rethink about my economics grade.. maybe i'm not putting in enough effort like she say.. really hoping to get at least a C grade for the 'A's. she say she is going to put more pressure on the class. still got the essay to write and the case-study to do!
had the maths test after econs. on vectors. thought that it was relatively easy.. did finish the paper way before the time is up.. haha second time i finish doing a test earlier than the time allocated. the last time was during physics on wed. are the tests getting easier or am i getting smarter?? (hehe)
gp went by quite uneventfully. the short and bald teacher (Mr Chou) was a bit sick today.. keep on faking a cold through the whole lesson...
'pon' chinese culture lesson today and went for air rifle training. can't shoot with Mr Oh standing behind and eyeing on us... got the feeling on a pair of eyes wandering in the range.. maybe is because i'm a lousy shooter so feel pressured... results still the same... so lousy.. i think surely will not make it to the school team for the MOE inter-school competition one. nvm lah.. on the brighter side, i can spend more time studying (yah right..)
tomorrow friday liao.. slacking day cause no lessons only need to do revision. but got piano lesson tomorrow.. my fingers i think harden up after not touching the black and white keys for two weeks (teacher went on holiday). tomorrow surely get scolded one.. better have some mental preparation before the lesson.
found the third missing person body liao this afternoon.. very sad.. the man going to retire at the end of the year but meet with this kind of accident. really a hero.. heard on the news that he escape from the place before the collaspe but went back in to help his fellow co-workers. really make me reflect and cherish my life even more.. hope they find the last missing person soon.. dead or alive...
better get back to studying liao.. but going to watch the o.c. later at 10.. very interesting show... haha..
