Jul 6, 2023 · What is the reason to buy the WiFiMan Wizard? I mean, if I already have the WiFiMan App on Android, I don't see any reason to buy the Wizard. I understand that the Wizard is necessary for Apple devices because they cannot read RSSI values. However, I honestly don't understand what improvements it brings to Android devices.

Dec 20, 2022 · On iOS, the WifiMan Wizard allows Android-level scanning performance, and as a slight benefit, even without LiDAR (iPhone 12/13/14 PRO) the floor plan AR feature seems to be way more stable (possibly due to standardized camera modules and MEMS [gyroscope etc])

Jun 11, 2023 · WiFiman Wizard Considering the purchase of a wizard for my android phone, under the assumption it might prove more real-time data. To anyone using the wizard, did you find it "polled" the signal strength more frequently than the wifi man app itself?

If you don't have a pro series, you can just walk the room along the walls and in the middle to properly map the room out. As most mentioned it, it's good for punctual verification. You can't export mapping to do a complete building for example. Quick site survey to confirm coverage for example.Wifiman wizard is supposed to be better at this.

Mar 27, 2023 · Is the WiFiman wizard worth the cost to map wifi in my home? I’m in the Apple ecosystem and use some Ubiquiti devices. I don’t have an android phone capable of using the mapping feature. Any thoughts on cost, utility, and potential alternatives are greatly appreciated!

Mar 29, 2022 · An example of this is "Wizard" has a freq. range of 2.4 to 2.5GHz & 5.15 to 5.85GHz, Range is said to be -96dBm to 0dBm with 1dBm Amplitude. It connects via Bluetooth, thus leaving the entire WiFi HW for scanning, including BT and LTE, with 240min runtime before it's measly 300mAh battery dies!?!?!

I’m not well versed in networking, but had the same belief and same settings. Just checked wifiman and it had same recommendation. Adjusted to 80 and my download nearly doubled. It was perfectly acceptable before the change, but faster is better! Thanks for posting!!

Sep 9, 2022 · Yes, but many (and all non jailbroken iOS) devices limit the access that apps can have to a given radio. I guess the idea here is to have this device appear as a non usable network interface (nothing) to the underlying OS and a “fullish” wide band radio to the app- thus exposing more RF functions and sensitivity than you’d get through an OS native WiFi interface.
