Apr 25, 2018 · Alacowman is right. I have a tarter chute now and one side of the head gate won't fully close anymore. I can't figure out how to adjust it. Now when we worked 1700-2200lb bulls the other day it closed but with some cows and all weaned calves it's a pain. Have to shove a bar in behind them which sux. Works your tail off just working 30 calves.

The incoming cow engages the door bars with her shoulder and pushes them into the locked position that catches her head. Today, a young heifer that was nervous ran down the alley, into the chute and rushed for the ...

Jan 16, 2021 · Tarter was my first brand new chute (replaced a 20yr + old powder river) and the thing looked really nice. Came time to use on the cows (1300lbs) did ok, did not like the self catching headgate however.

Aug 21, 2013 · I am about to switch out a 3 year old Tarter Auto Catch squeeze chute. I want the Priefert SO4. The SO4 is bigger and has a tail gate that can be operated via lever while you still have the head catch lever in easy reach.

Feb 2, 2016 · The County Line and the Tarter are 2 different chutes. Tarter used to be the TSC chute. I have greased the pivot points on this chute and it still drags. The squeeze just does not have enough leverage to squeeze a cow and also it will not put a squeeze on a 500 lb calf.

Sep 3, 2017 · Looking for suggestions as my 1 1/2year Tarter Cattle Chute and Head Gate is not working as it should. When setting in the automatic catch position the right door is now setting back further than left hand door. When the cow moves forward the left door locks but the right one will not without assistance from me.
Buying a Squeeze Chute | CattleToday.com - Cattle, Cow
Jan 14, 2011 · Found out that Lowes carrys the Tarter line and I can get into the Cattleman Auto Chute for around $1500. We have a small herd varries from 20-30 head (1000-1300lbs) and recently got into buying young calves 10-20 at a time. Would this chute work for tame cows once or twice a year and a few sets of the calves throughout the year.
Which Squeeze Chute? | CattleToday.com - Cattle, Cow
Sep 14, 2014 · Hi. We are looking to upgrade our old Powder River squeeze chute to something new (sick of head and shin knockers). We have kind of narrowed it down to either the Arrow or the Sioux Steel. The big back and forth is manual head catch versus self head catch. Any opinions either way would be much...
