The permit-hostdown keyword allows TCP logging to continue when the syslog server is down. You can configure the ASA to send data to a syslog server using either UDP or TCP, but not both. The default TCP port is 1470.

Hi, Syslog port 514 is reserved for UDP only. Unfortunately, port 514/TCP is reserved for remote shell so it is not suggested also keeping TCP as a syslog port will block all the traffic if the syslog server is not available bcoz it is connection oriented.....
