Dec 16, 2010 · Someone mentioned my name, better step in here. The difference is, Redman liners are button rifled. This is the same proses as a lot of barrel maker use for after market barrels. In this case aircraft tube (4130 steel) is used and a button is pulled through it. T.J.'s liners are hammer forged around a mandrel that has the rifling.

Jan 8, 2023 · Redmans liners are made from 4130 aircraft steel and button rifled. T.J.'s liners are made from the same steel but hammer forged. I have done more than a few liner jobs and prefer the hammer forged liners. The liners do not need to be sand blasted, I use brake clean to get oil off and clean the bore of the barrel.

May 24, 2022 · Occasionally, TJ's will do full diameter "liners" that have enough wall material to make barrels from. I got some heavy hammer-forged blanks to make .38-55's for Marlin 336's, but I need to find a place with a vacuum oven which will hang them vertically for double stress-relief.
Epoxy in Chamber Adapter?? - Cast Boolits
Nov 25, 2024 · I made Chamber Adapters for some revolvers and did epoxy them into the cylinders , plus epoxied a barrel liner into the barrel to change the caliber. If I remove all the liners, they then can be used in the original caliber if the barrel was good. The one I still have was reduced from 32 Rimfire to .22 LR.

Mar 26, 2016 · Redman sell a twist drill (I think only in 8mm for .22 and 13mm. for larger liners) which is reduced to act as its own pilot. These are only long enough to reach the middle from each end, which I don't like, and TJ's liners, which offer a bigger variety than Brownells, are sized in sixteenths of an inch, not millimetres.
Getting a barrel relined question? - Cast Boolits
Sep 18, 2016 · If a .32-20 you should be able to get it relined with no problem. Last time I read about liners on Brownells tech section, I recall the liner manufacturers only recommend using liners in low pressure cartridges such as .32-20, .38-40, & .44-40 and similar applications. They specifically warn against full power rifle rounds like .30-30.
