Aug 7, 2023 · RG405M's drivers on stock were sub-optimized so a lot of games ran worse than the games put down on the 3+ spreadsheet to the point where PS2/GC/Wii/3DS were kinda gimmicky. However with GammaOS you can now get very similar performance to the 3+ and really open up the catalog to a LOT of 6th generation games.

The RG405M feels more premium and just has more wow factor imho. I paid $158 USD for the RG405V and $194 USD for the RG405M. They took about 12 buisness days with expedited shipping to Canada. I was one of those folks who wanted the RG405V to be the same size as the RG353V with superior ergonomics. Oh well. I'm VERY happy with my RG405M.

Aug 30, 2023 · Gran Turismo games have such a high learning curve, I don't manage to get far enough into them. I might give it a shot but I try to avoid games that frustrate me. In the meantime, you can try my RP3+ settings and see if it'll help for the RG405M (posting the entire list in case there are other PS2 games that come to mind as well):

It's small and pocketable, more powerful than the RP3+ and RG405M, has a screen size that will play GBA at proper scaling and also 4:3 content that will almost fill the entire screen, options on stick vs dpad positioning based on preference, and it runs Android.

Did some testing with special hardware and confirmed I can get HDMI out working on the RG405m using Gamma OS, and it may even work with the stock OS. I’ll post how to do this after I get another piece of hardware in, because this required something with a hefty price tag, but I think I can accomplish the same thing with about $40 worth of cables.
