This district holds many of Amarillo's early history and stories and is part of the Amarillo Cultural District. In addition to sculptures scattered throughout Center City, some Points of Interest include: 1) The Bivin's Home, located at 1000 S. Polk.

Our headquarters is at 1000 S. Polk St. in the historic Bivins Building. Our Vision: Amarillo’s Downtown will be a destination neighborhood that bridges the past and the future in Center City.

Polk Street's sanctuary is one of the most beautiful and historic among Texas panhandle Christianity. Our 1928 Sanctuary includes impressive stained glass, a large balcony, beautiful dark woodwork, ornate stone and plasterwork, and a notable pipe organ.

We are proud of our history, honored to be standing on the shoulders of those who came before us, and awed by the way God has used Polk Street to reach Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Nov 1, 2024 · The Amarillo Building is considered Amarillo's oldest skyscraper. Designed by architects, Shepard & Wiser, as part of the oil-induced skyscraper boom of the mid-1920's. It occupies two towers with a design that doubled the number of the corner offices and allowed maximum natural light.

Great local crafted beers, great food, this is an oasis in real life. I didn’t plan to come to Amarillo TX on these days but I’m so glad I found Six Car Pub & Brewery. It’s good to see Amarillo’s downtown thriving and growing. I like the addition of Six Car Pub & Brewery to downtown Amarillo giving people another reason to hangout downtown.
