According to urbandictionary: you say spanish words wrong, and say the spanglish version of them. normally spanish kids who don't practice their spanish, or who don't know how to speak Spanish are a no sabo kid. So they were likely mocking her for being a Latina person with poor Spanish skills.

Oct 10, 2023 · Leave the “no sabo kids” alone, there is not one “right” way to be a Latino in America. As a mixed generation Mexican-American I speak Spanish but am otherwise also fully assimilated into American Culture, some people don’t speak Spanish but have a lot more connection to being Mexican/Salvadoran culturally, etc.

The correct way to conjugate "saber" in Spanish would be "No sé," because it is an irregular conjugation, so the joke is that a terrible Spanish speaker would conjugate it the regular way which would give you "No sabo". (You could actually make the same exact joke in Portuguese getting "Não sabo" from "saber" instead of the correct "Não sei."

So I guess OP is asking if there is some sort of equivalent term used to describe kids whose parents/grandparents spoke French fluently, but then they moved to another country and the kid can speak a bit and makes a lot of errors.

I'm not a no sabo kid, but I am Asian descent, fluent in Spanish, but I speak no Asian languages. Growing up, I would get all sorts of judgment from Asian immigrants and kids of Asian immigrants for not speaking the clan's old language, so to speak, and if I were to try, I'd get ridiculed for not speaking it perfectly like a native.
