Jun 22, 2013 · H110 is great in a 45 Colt, if you want to load it to 100 percent. That is all that powder is useful for. Very specialized powder. 2400 will work well in the 70 to 90 percent loading realm. Below that almost anything works. My suggestion is to keep the H110 load where it is and use them when you want that level of "power".

Nov 23, 2010 · I do homework. And, a result of my homework I find severly conflicting reloading information on the 357 magnum round specifically with the bullet I chose the HDY XTP 158gr. I have published information ranging from 12 to 17 grains for the H110 powder alone! And, published information and warnings NOT to use that same published information!

Jan 18, 2013 · H110 for Large frame Ruger 45 colts or TC's for SAA and Clones it's not an optimal powder to use due to the lower, safe pressures of those firearms . H110 is good for pushing high velocity and/or large for caliber bullets/boolits.

Dec 14, 2007 · The best high velocity powder for 357 Magnum is VV N110. I've used it with 110 gr JHPs with spectacular results. It's awesome all the way up through the heavy weights. It costs more per pound than H110 but you use less powder per charge with N110 so the cost per round is a wash and velocities are about the same. N110 may be a shade faster.

Aug 17, 2016 · As stated by others, works awesome for 110-135 gr bullets. An alternative I use is Alliant 300-MP magnum pistol powder, very much like H110 in speed and performance. Note that most powders used in the 300 BLK are pistol powders, with a few of the fast rifle powders also. Lots of data in the BLK thread, a lot more elsewhere on the web.
