With Warren Beatty, Julie Christie, Goldie Hawn, Lee Grant. On Election Day, 1968, irresponsible hairdresser and ladies' man George Roundy is too busy cutting hair and dealing with his girlfriends and mistress Felicia Karpf, whose husband Lester is having an affair with his ex-girlfriend Jackie.

His actress girlfriend Jill (Goldie Hawn) is conflicted about going to Egypt for a job. His sex partner Felicia (Lee Grant) recommends his business to her unsuspecting husband Lester (Jack Warden). Lester has an affair with Jackie (Julie Christie) who happens to be George's ex and Jill's friend.

After the Oscar win her career took off and she followed with roles in successful comedies such as There's a Girl in My Soup (1970) and Shampoo (1975), and more dramatic roles in The Girl from Petrovka (1974) and The Sugarland Express (1974).

Lee Grant claimed in her 2014 autobiography that "everyone knew" Goldie Hawn and Warren Beatty were sleeping together, even though he was still involved with Julie Christie.
