Dec 10, 2023 · The game is a waste of time, but the SSD part is true for almost all games in my opinion. Load times are insignificant on them and that's more than enough for me without even thinking about the other benefits. I remember buying BF4 on PC and it taking almost 2 minutes to load a map on my HDD. Put it on the SSD and it was done within 20-30 seconds.

Oct 2, 2016 · This is what I was rocking for a few years, and honestly, even a small SSD like that is better than a huge HDD. It's a bit of an annoyance having to more carefully manage how many games you have installed at once, but that minor headache pales in comparison to how amazing it feels when every game you own pretty much loads instantaneously.

Feb 2, 2016 · Will I see a noticeable impact in gaming if I do this? Will it be worse using a SSD USB 3.0 drive, or will it be better than my current 7200 rpm drive? Is this a stupid idea and should I just continue with my current setup even if it means I have to manage storage with a greater frequency? Edit: The link for one of the drives is the 128GB model.

May 14, 2017 · From testing, load times are as follows in order of shortest to longest: Internal SSD>External SSD>External 3rd Party HDD>PS4 Pro Internal Stock HDD>PS4 Stock HDD. Storage capacity does not effect speeds. A full 4TB HDD filled with no/little data installed will perform the same when the drive is full. This is due to the 3BS file format.

Like 30 sec to 1 minute loading screen for every short conversation with a npc. Game is installed on Crucial mx500 ssd. I play almost on max details with average of 50 fps..

Apr 14, 2021 · This post is correct. When I changed from the stock HDD to a SSD in my PS3 many years ago, the difference was immediate and profound. Even starting the system and using the menu was snappier. Slightly off-topic but the PS4 Pro really did not feel like a Pro the first time I turned it on. It REALLY needed that SSD to feel smooth and modern to use.

Jun 2, 2017 · Preloading a game onto an SSD will reduce the time needed to unpack and decrypt the files. Also preloading may be pointless to you but it isn't to others like me. I have slow Aussie net and I'd rather wait 30 mins to an hour decrypting files than wait an entire day for a game to finish downloading.

Sep 5, 2021 · Its just weird because it was running fine at 4k 60 fps on series x while running off an external hdd just a few days ago. I dont think they enhanced anything else other than unlocking the framerate so i dont get why the ssd is now required. Its frustrating because even with tge expansion card ssd space is very limited.
