Jan 9, 2022 · The size charts are for the modern (letter) sizes only, and cover shirts, jackets, etc. I’m hoping for input on both numbered sizes, and whether the size chart is true-to-size when you’re wearing 1-2 layers underneath.

May 14, 2010 · I wear my true coat size in Filson tin cloth. The cut is pretty generous and layering is expected. If you go a size up, it is likely that the sleeves will be entirely too long as the tin cloth sleeve length is generous too.

Aug 20, 2023 · The Filson staff were adamant that this jacket will definitely shrink after a season in the rain/snow and that the jacket would fit perfectly based on it’s current fit. The staff were great, but I would honestly describe them as “pleasantly coercive” and got the feeling that they would say whatever I needed to hear to make the sale.

Oct 18, 2022 · I ordered a M and L from Filson's website based on their size chart. Never even bothered taking the L out because the M sleeves are an inch too long and pretty baggy where they come out from the body/arm holes. The body looks baggy with just a T-shirt or long sleeve but fills out fine if I'm wearing a sweater.

Dec 14, 2023 · Mackinaw cruisers and the jac-shirts run a size large. A lot of their stuff runs big in general. Look at the size chart for each item. They list the dimensions for that specific item, so shop accordingly. I just returned the tin packer for a bigger size because I sized down (like usual) and had no range of motion.

Dec 14, 2010 · Filson 258: This has a padded laptop compartment but doesn't necessarily have a higher carrying capacity than than the 257. It definitely looks bigger. Official dimensions are: 16 1/2" W x 14" H x 7 1/2" D. First pic is from the Filson website clearly showing the size of the bag.
