Every year, thousands of SOME supporters join us at one of our signature fundraising events to raise money, awareness, and support for our efforts to break the cycle of homelessness & poverty in our nation’s capital.

SOME is proud to operate in all eight Wards in the District and in Hampshire County, West Virginia. To maintain the privacy of our residents and clients, we do not publicly release the addresses of our programming sites.

We're proud to support access to free eye exams and eyeglasses for individuals in need through SOME and the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington.

The SOME Center for Employment Training (CET) is a licensed post-secondary vocational school. We offer free, hands-on training in the healthcare and building trades fields. In addition to providing technical instruction—in areas such as CPR, First Aid, Heating and Venting—we also train our students in the soft skills they need to land a job.

SOME is filling this critical gap by providing housing for those earning 30% or less of the FMI ($38,700 for a family of four as of 2021). We launched our first transitional housing program in 1986, and our first long-term affordable housing program in 1989.
