A watercolor illustration by Thomas Taylor, who was a 23-year-old bookseller when he first painted the work, sold for $1.9 million to become the most valuable Harry Potter item ever sold at auction.

This past week, Sotheby's announced the auction scheduled for June 26 in New York of Thomas Taylor's original watercolor illustration for the first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
