Howard University on Thursday announced the historic appointment of Andrea A. Hayes Dixon, M.D., FACS, FAAP as the university's College of Medicine dean.

After years of hard work, Dr. Andrea Hayes became the first Black female pediatric surgeon in America in 2002. She now serves as UNC's Chief of Pediatric Surgery.
