The Honduras president's threat to end cooperation with the U.S. military if Trump deports its citizens has generated political heat in her country.

In pushing back against President-elect Donald J. Trump’s plan, President Xiomara Castro threatened that a base hosting U.S. troops could “lose all reason to exist in Honduras.”

Honduran President Xiomara Castro issued President-elect Trump a stark warning earlier this week over his vow to pursue mass deportations when he returns to the White House, threatening to bar U.S. troops from the Latin American nation.

The message was the first time that a foreign leader has publicly spoken out against the forthcoming deportation operation in such an opposing way.
