The second annual 518 common unity cup starts Tuesday. Law enforcement and other community organizations will compete in sports, including volleyball, kickball, softball, and dodgeball.

SCHENECTADY — The 518 Common Unity Cup is set to return this August with five nights of free community gatherings that will see local children compete in five sporting events throughout the month.

The first Common Ground Country Fair was held in 1977 at the Litchfield Fairgrounds. The crowds grew each year and the fair migrated to Windsor before the land was purchased in Unity in 1996.
