Man dies after getting into difficulty in the sea

A man has died after getting into difficulty in the sea off the coast of Kent, police have said.

Emergency services were called to a report of a swimmer that had got into trouble in the water at Ramsgate Sands at 13:45 BST on Wednesday.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene, Kent Police said.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is to be prepared for the coroner.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and HM Coastguard.
