The Washington Bar Exam is a 2-day exam. Day 1 consists of six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam questions (MEE) and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test questions (MPT). Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam.

What’s the minimum score for MPRE?

Washington’s MPRE minimum pass score is 85.

How is the exam scored?

The MBE (weighted 50%), the MEE 30% and the MPT 20%. The scores are scaled and combined to determine if a passing score of 270 was achieved.

When are the results released?

Results are released in early May for the February exam and in early October for the July exam.

Can I transfer my MBE scores from another jurisdiction?

What about reciprocity across states?

Washington may admit attorneys from other jurisdictions under conditions substantially similar to those procedures in reciprocal states. See Rule 18. Reciprocal states include AL, AK, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DC, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MA, ME, MN, MS, MO, NE, NH, NY, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SD, TN, TX, VT, VA, WV, WI, and WY. Most jurisdictions require a number of years of practice for admission on motion.
