Different Mists and their Functions

What are mists?
I am referring to facial mists!  The products you see housed in a spray bottle or atomizer!  A product where I mostly set aside because these are "extras".  Little did I know after 10 plus years of Blogging, I would cling on this extra step as an integral part of my skincare regimen!

So there are a whole lot of Face Mists brands out their with fancy names - Face Mists, Toning Water, Atomizer, Makeup Setting Spray, Oil-control spray and a whole lot more!  So do they all work the same or should you read into details before you push them aside?

I highly recommend you to go for the latter!

I have a couple of face mists that I have tried through the years (I apologize for missing out some as I'm sure I did!)  But these are just some of the ones I use and yes, I alternately use them on different occasions for different purposes and you'll find at least 1 face mist in my bag, my table and inside the car!  (Not putting atomizers inside the car though for safety!)

Shall we begin?

If I plan to keep my skin hydrated all throughout the day, I use Avene Thermal Spring Water (Php750.00 for 150ml available at Watsons), this bottle mainly contains water and just like our body, whenever I feel like my skin is hydrated, I would immediately pull this bottle out and give my skin a breathe of fresh water!

This bottle is great for hiking as well!  Tested to refresh my senses!

Now if water ONLY doesn't make the cut because you have dry skin or your skin tends to try midday with makeup on --- go for Face Mists.

Face Mists like Esfolio Nutri-Snail Daily Soothing Mist (Php399.00 available at select stores and online stores), these types of products does not only contain water but also ingredients that keep our skin hydrated all throughout the day.  I call this moisturizer in a bottle because with makeup on, it is impossible to apply my favorite moisturizer on top of makeup so I use this instead!  With several spritz and patting motion, my skin does not feel as dry or my makeup does not look cracked like before.

I also like to use Face Mist in between makeup routine REGULARLY.  Meaning, I inject this extra step between Face Cleansing + Toning, Toning + moisturizer --- yes, I do a couple of spritz in between to keep my skin hydrated making sure the "environment" won't evaporate the newly applied moisturizer, instead, it evaporates Face Mists instead!

YADAH Oh My Sunscreen Review

Sitting here in front of my work table, I am thinking really hard on what to write (beauty related) as my first entry for year 2020.  Yesterday's post was personal and today is me back with a product review - the thing I love to do most!

As I wrote on my new 2020 organizer reshuffling my thoughts on my future plans, I realized, a soon to be 41 year old self has nothing more to ask for but to be healthy - and that includes having healthy skin!

I know you've read it in so many blogs, heard it a lot on radio and TV commercials, I'm sure you'll give me a huge sigh right now when I tell you I'm writing about Sunscreen - again!

So this 40 year old woman is telling you right now to stop rolling your eyes and at least give this tita a chance to tell you why wearing sunscreen is super important --- Just Joking - I won't!  You know why is it important but what I'm telling you right now is to give this brand a try!

YADAH Green Tea Pure Cleansing Balm Review

I lived and breathe Cleansing Oils ever since I learned about Shu Uemura!  Thank goodness for more alternative (and inexpensive brands) out there because I use them up so fast!

For a Beauty and Skincare enthusiast like myself who hoards skincare and makeup products I like, I actually ended up one fateful night without a cleansing oil!  I was in shocked because I usually have stocks!  I obviously didn't and I rummaged through items I got for review and found Yadah Green Tea Pure Cleansing Balm which I used immediately without much expectation.

Now, I'm writing a full blog post about it, you kind a know what's next!

YADAH Auto Lip Crayons Review

I've tested the YADAH Auto Lip Crayons 4 years ago in this article - AMW Reviews: YADAH Auto Lip Crayons.

For the look, it looks like the usual "crayon-type" lip products that is more on a balm-y texture.  Thankfully, looks can really be deceiving and this is the deception I highly welcome!  This is really pigmented and applies beautifully on lips!

After testing out Plum Burgundy and Rose Beige, I am happy to try out Rose Coral and Dazzling Red.  These 2 shades are more up on my alley!

#AskAMW : "What's A Nice Skincare line for Oily skin?"

I know I have always been "bragging" (not!) about my combination (normal/dry) skin.  You all know the products I use mostly are hydrating and moisturizing.  To my oily skinned readers out there.  This post is finally made for YOU!

Though I don't use skincare products for oily skin (obviously), I always keep my eyes open for you gals and I have Mr. AMW to help me out testing the other side of the skincare world products!

The brand needs no major introduction as I've talked about this brand a couple of times whenever I attend Beauty Bar launches.  But just in case you are new and wants a bit of history about this brand - let me indulge you!

Owner and CEO Anna Kang started the brand when her child hit puberty and began to experience breakouts.  She looked for mild and low-irritant skincare products but she wasn't satisfied with what she found in the market thus, the birth of YADAH.

That said, the brand uses ingredients that are mild and safe to avoid skin irritation, suitable even for the most sensitive skin.  The key botanical she discovered and is unique is most YADAH skincare products is the native Prickly Pear (Opuntia Ficus) extract, a cactus species organically grown and cultivated in Korea.  The prickly pear has anti-inflammatory and potent with high antioxidant properties which help neutralize free radicals harmful to the skin!

True enough, I actually uses some of these products myself as I find my "t-zone" to be oilier by the summer!  Whenever I use products meant for oily skin, I will itch and have allergic reactions and NONE from YADAH #truestory

So yes, if you have oily skin and you also have sensitive skin, you may want to look into these!

Anti-Trouble Bubble Cleanser
Php790.00
Size: 150ml

This is a foaming bubble cleanser making it easier to remove oil, dirty and grease without stripping off skin's natural moisture.  I have used this once or twice a week since I received this but Mr. AMW used this daily and liked it a lot!

He loved the feeling of using a "foam type" cleanser as he felt his skin is cleaner.

Anti- Trouble Toner
Php1,090.00
Size: 100ml

I don't use this but Mr. AMW does.  He said this finishes off really nice on skin, non-greasy and his skin appears more matte.  He likes to use this after cleansing with Anti-Trouble Bubble Cleanser.

I like it that this soothe redness and clear up skin or Mr. AMW noticed when a pimple is just starting to pop out, he would apply this and it would disappear quicker.

Anti-Trouble Mist
Php550.00
Size: 95ml

I am using this once in a while and I love how this is housed in a spritz bottle.  This mist can work for ANY skin type because its' main function is to hydrate and soothe troubled skin with its gentle and non-greasy formula.  It is said to help control excess oil but I find it works even for my skin type!

In the YADAH Anti-Trouble line, there are a wide range of products from Emulsion to Spot Cream to Mask pack even Concealer!

YADAH is currently available online at Glamourbox (where I got it from), BeautyMNL, Lazada, Zalora, Shopee and coming soon to SM Beauty and Watsons Satores and Landmark Department stores.

To know more information visit www.glamourbox.ph/collections/yadah-philippines and follow YadahPH on Instagram and @GlamourboxPH to get the latest deets on Yadah.

K Beauty by Beauty Bar Launch

We all love Korean skincare and makeup ever since the boom of Koreanovelas.  Glass skin is what we're all aiming for the past years and just when you think I have "glass skin" on photo below, don't be fooled, that's perspiration!  #hahaha

But seriously, I have been very consistent with masking and with my skincare products this year, less makeup, more skincare products is my goal because I am not getting any younger.

So the invite to see what K-Beauty brands are finally available in the local scene got my attention, even with crazy schedule, I had to squeeze this in!

The event happened at Okada Manila and the Cove was decorated so beautifully I had to take photos of each area!  Are you ready for a quick tour?

Dear, Klairs
This brand is known for its' respect to the environment by carrying products that has No colorants, no alcohol, no parabens and no artificial fragrances.  This brand caught my attention because it is a skincare brand for sensitive skin.

Just some of the bestselling lines are the Blue Line (to keep skin youthful), Freshly Juiced Line (the ultimate brightening solution) and Gentle Black Cleansing Line (deep cleanse without irritations) and a whole lot more!

AMW Reviews: YADAH Auto Gel Liner Pencils

When asked what my "must buy" pencil liners for our humid weather, I would always reply: "There's none good enough for our country!"

Maybe, just maybe, after reading all the raves online about YADAH Auto Gel Liner pencils?  Maybe, these are the one?

So during YADAH launch, these pencils caught my attention big time I had to swatch them immediately!  The pencil glides on so smoothly and pigmentation is extremely good I told myself this is too good to be true considering its' price point!  Less than 400php girls!  So off I went home with all 3 liner shades --- Black, Brown and Gold and I tested it out for a month in various conditions!

The liner is AUTO GEL LINER Good Bye Smudge.  Judging by the name, I am expecting no smudge even for our weather!

AMW Reviews: YADAH Twin Angel BB Cream with Lip & Cheek

Ever wondered how Korean actresses have this naturally amazing skin on TV or photos?
Well, I've wondered about that for so long!  And I know the answer is BB Cream, but, I haven't really found the BB Cream that looks just like those from the TV screen!

So Yadah Twin Angel BB Cream with Lip & Cheek SPF35/PA++ is actually my "nth" BB Cream to try....
A photo and review on YADAH Twin Angel BB Cream with Lip & Cheek

Will it give me the "Jan Di" look?  I remembered watching Boys Over Flowers and reacted on how "white" her skin looks yet it has this healthy glow making it easy for me to forgive her make up artist for using a light colored base!

AMW Reviews: YADAH Auto Lip Crayons

It's Monday today and I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Cheers to good vibes everyone!
And today, I will be sharing a review on a "cute" brand.  When I say "cute", I always think about brands like Etude House or Benefit Cosmetics!  Who would've thought another brand joined in the "cute packaging" bandwagon?

You probably read about Yadah Cosmetics on my first YADAH post.  Aside from skincare, they have a full range of make up line that even professionals can really look into!  ONE product that really caught my attention is their Auto Lip Crayon line!  I "swatched" them during the event and was impressed with the smoothness, creaminess and high pigmentation!

Today, I will be reviewing 2 shades --- a light and dark shade.

How To: Special Events Make Up

Hi AMW Friends!  This post will be full of AMW photos so please bear with me!  As much as I would love to lessen the products I used, well, for the first time in AMW history, I think I used more than 10 products!  Well, forgive me for such tedious tutorial because I was requested to do a Special Events Make Up and when it comes to special events, we do need a lot of help to make us look like the better version of ourselves!  Right?

Well, before I proceed with my make up "photo-torial", I want to say, today is my Mom's birthday!!!  And I am feeling generous today by awarding my top commenter "rhaindropz"!  You can see her name popping on my top commenter list on the right hand side!  So Rhaindropz, if you are reading this, comment below and tell me you won together with your full name and mailing address!  I'll message you personally on what I will send you!  It's worth it I promise you!

Now back to the tutorial....here's my version of Special Events Make Up!

And if you find something different with my photo, well, you are right!  I am finally wearing contacts after so many years!  (Posts HERE and HERE)

And I'm loving the new contact lens brand I'm wearing  because it looks way more natural than the Korean Lenses I've tried!
AMW Wore: Air Optix Lens in Sterling Gray
Initial thoughts: Feels very comfortable to wear and I definitely love the effect of Sterling Gray on me!  I can't wait to try out  more colors!

If like me, you plan to wear contact lens, please wear them before you do your make up!
