Stage 1, THE ORC FOREST

ORC KING
* Can be easily defeated with 2 magical crystals.

The stage begins with the weakest enemy you'll encounter: the orcs. Halfway through, a werewolf crossbowman appears. You may attack his bolts for 800 EXP each before killing him. At the end of the stage is the Orc King, armed with 2 extendable morning stars. Watch his shadow and as long as you attack him directly in front, his morning stars will never touch you. Defeating the Orc King nets you a gold chest with a Lv2 item.


Stage 2, TREASURE IN AN OLD CASTLE

MINOTAUR
* Can be easily defeated with 2 magical crystals.

The only enemies in this stage are a few orcs. Watch out that one of the vessels has an ice trap. Use the Magic Crystal should it appear, then face the boss: an axe-wielding Minotaur. His main attacks are creating a wave of air blades with his axe, or charging to gore you like a bull. Attack him slightly above or below his horizontal plane to land free hits without being damaged. When he is down to 4 life bars, the floor collapses and the battle resumes. Finish him for a Lv2 weapon.


Stage 3, BATTLE ON A MOUNTAIN PEAK

WYVERN

The mountainslope is filled with chests of goodies and more orcs, with the appearance of the red orc. Shortly ahead, you must face the Wyvern. He attacks by dive-lunging its talons while flying or grabbing you by the head to toss you. When in the ground, he spits homing fireballs or a stream of 3 fireballs. It will alternate between land and ground fighting for each 2 life bars it loses. When killed, it will only leave behind gold bags.


Stage 4, CAVE OF HYDRA

The Hydra's Cave is full of orcs and werewolves and the occasional green blobs. These slimes lodge on a character and sap his life till he dies. Wiggle the lever to break free or attack the pest blob. Be sure to pick up the Lv3 item from a chest. At the end of the stage is a huge 3-headed serpent. The blue head spits freezing breath, the red blows out fire balls, while the green discharges acid puddles that drains the player of his life upon contact. Knocking 3 life bars usually decapitates a head, so focusing on 1 head at time makes this boss more manageable.

Stage 5, TO THE NORDE ISLE

This short stage occurs on a ship's starboard. Take the Lv3 weapon as harpies drop skeletons you must battle. These skeletons are hardy warriors who know how to block attacks and may take a few hits to destroy. After killing several skeletons and the ship reaches the mountainsides, sahuagins invade the ship. Be sure that whenever you knock them down, block their diving trident or knock them out of the air with a ranged attack. After decimating the mermen, the stage ends.

Stage 6, THE GIANT IN THE SHRINE

CYCLOPS

The Norde Isle shorlines is populated by airborne harpies and orcs. Destroying them leads you to the second area with a Lv4 item and is filled with orcs, werewolves and skeletons. You must defeat another Minotaur to enter the tower. The shrine itself is a long ascending staircase guarded by skeletons, orcs and mimics in the guise of purple chests. At the top of the stairs is the one-eyed Cyclops. Its punching and rock throw attacks deal brutal damage, so beware! Defeating this giant awards a Lv4 weapon.


Stage 7, TRENT WOODS

The forest is plagued by lava blobs, skeletons, orcs and werewolves. Attacking the skeletons' spears nets you 1000 EXP each! The lizardman makes its first appearance here. Decimate them as in the earlier stages until you reach a huge tree. It is infested by 6 giant spiders that drop on random locations of the screen, lobbing acid puddles or attempting to squeeze you. Use hit-and-run and always be on the move around the screen while attacking a spider. Upon killing them, Trent the giant tree grants you a Lv5 item.

Stage 8, TO THE CASTLE

DRAGON RIDER

The road to the castle is manned by new enemies, particularly lizard swordsmen and spearmen, as well as rows of weak black archers. You can knock the arrows for 1000 EXP each before killing the archers. The lizardmen takes several hits to destroy. Upon nearing the castle, you are faced by a formidable Dragon Rider. The dragon spits a wall of fire while the rider lunges with his polearm. Hit-and-run works wonders but quickly back away from the range of the rider's polearm. Defeating them nets you a golden chest with a Lv5 weapon.


Stage 9, CASTLE MALUS

BLACK KNIGHT

The castle courtyard is a long corridor lined with various defenses like dark archers, lizard swordsmen and spearmen, as well as 2 Dragon Riders along the way. Expect a heavy fight for survival as you trek your way to the end of the stage. Soon the Black Knight emerges. Though in armor, he is a nimble fighter who attacks with swift shadow trails followed by a katana strike or throw 3 shurikens at a time. Attack whenever possible and take him out quickly once his life drops to 2 bars, 2 Dragon Riders arrive to back him up!


Stage 10, UNDERPASS

Pick up the Lv6 item as the stage begins. This dark hall is filled with undead monsters like skeletons and the resilient and powerful mummies. Hack them from a distance whenever possible, their choke hold is as damaging as the blobs' life leeching. At the farthest area of the stage is a circle of 8 wraiths. Anyone of them is a viable target, as long as you stay in their circle. Contact with a wraith causes damage and be sure to knock off the sickles they throw to you. Continue hacking them until they are down to 1 life bar, where they'll turn red and spin more rapidly. A few more attacks destroy them and award you gems and a gold chest with a Lv6 weapon!

Stage 11, BATTLE IN THE FORT

GREAT DRAGONIAN

The fort invading monsters are mostly skeletons and lizardmen, along with several dark archers. The trek through the battlements is indeed long and you must save Princess Mari from the stage boss: the Great Dragonian. This dragon knight attacks with an extendable chain sword with incredible range as well as goring you with his spiked shield. Whenever he dives from the air with his sword, block it and attack as he recovers. Eventually, this fearsome dragon falls.


Stage 12, CASTLE GARENOS

ROYAL KNIGHTS

Once you enter the halls of the castle, you are met by a Dragon Rider flanked by skeletons. The dragon spits blows a stream of fireballs unlike the former versions. Skeletons and werewolves inhabit the rest of the area until you reach a narrow hall. Here you must fight 2 Royal Knights. They behave much like the Black Knight but they share a single life bar. Knocking down 4 life bars usually kills one Royal Knight, so focus on one target to take him down before decimating the other. Upon victory, you obtain a gold chest with a Lv7 item.


Stage 13, DARK WIZARD

DARK WIZARD

The upper bridge of the castle is infested by a horde of imps as well as lizardmen. Destroy them with magic attacks and press on till you get to a doorway, where you must face the sorcerer. He attacks with fire, ice and lightning. Strike him whenever he teleports and he will go down after a few hits. Then you must face the Dark Wizard himself. His attacks are mainly a wall of dark flames, a cage of fire and a ball barrier. Keep on the offensive and you will defeat him. He disintegrates into a horde of frogs and leaves behind a gold chest with a Lv7 weapon.


Stage 14, CAVE IN THE WOODS

WYVERN

The stage starts with blue sahuagins. Defeat them all in order to go further and obtain a Lv8 item. Further ahead are more werewolves and lizardmen as well as a few mimics. Destroy each and every one of them in order to face another Wyvern but of the ice type, attacking similarly to the first Wyvern but now its breath freezes the players for gradual damage. Once you kill the Wyvern, gnome villagers point you towards the red dragon's cave.


Stage 15, UNDERGROUND LABYRINTH

CYCLOPS BROTHERS

Collect the Lv8 weapon as the stage starts. This location is also infested by undead skeletons and mummies as well as lava blobs. Trek through the corridors while on your way collecting the hoard for EXP and extra vitality. Try to avoid taking too much damage from the mummies and blobs. At the very end of the corridor are 2 Cyclops. Fight them in a similar way as you fought the first Cyclops and the Royal Knights. Hit one target until you deplete 4 life bars and it falls down before focusing on the other and you shall claim victory.


Stage 16, GOLDEN LIMESTONE CAVE

The final stage at last. The bridge is filled with chests of loot, as well as a few mimics lying in disguise. Collect your haul before facing the tyrant red dragon, Gildiss. Avoid his fire breath at all costs for it inflicts severe damage. Gildiss can also spit several fireballs around the screen. Also watch out for his claw which he uses to grab your character's head and toss you for damage. Gildiss changes his position for every 2 life bars he loses. Keep on attacking and avoiding his fire breaths and use magic attacks to negate his claw grab. Soon this great red dragon will fall, leaving his treasure hoard behind. Congratulations for beating the game!
