Yes, Find My is independent of blocking.
It actually isn't. When you block someone (or someone blocks you), it takes them off of your people who you share location with. It is a privacy feature that Apple implemented.
Do you know for a fact that you have been blocked by this person? Or are you trying to figure out if they have blocked you? If the latter, there is no way for you to know that short of asking them. If, on the other hand, you already know they have blocked you, stop bothering them.
OK, I misinterpreted your question. You can authorize someone to follow you using Find My even if they block you. However, if you send your location by text they will not receive it if they have blocked you.
Trying to figure it out that’s all just says they can see my location ! I’ve not bothered them once
Open the Find My app, tap on Me. Share My Location lets you share your location. If you don’t want to share your location turn this off.
If you want to share turn it on, then tap People. Tap the + sign and add who you want to share your location with.

It's important to note how old this thread is. It's even possible that the original poster was not yet using iOS 17.
So I have shared my location indefinitely with someone months ago and it is only them who I share it with. The purple arrow lights up a lot when i randomly look in my privacy settings. Would that be them looking?
I also have ios17.5.1 and I heard they have blocked me but if the purple arrow is them looking then I think it’s kinda funny. Just curious?

If they have blocked you, they aren't seeing anything. Stop sharing your location with them.
