Stitch Fix #32 Review

Today is the day I review my September box, my 32nd Fix, from Stitch Fix!  I will let you know what I kept and what I sent back, as well as the results of my Instagram Poll.

Bancroft "Kansas Drop Earrings"

Status:  KEPT!

I was ecstatic to get these earrings in my box.  They are totally my style and the statement earring is really trending right now.  They also go with almost everything and I've been wearing them constantly since I got them.

The earrings were popular on Instagram too coming in at #3 with 80% of pollsters saying to "Keep" and only 20% said to "Return" them.

Wisp "Cyndie Jersey Dress"

Status:  Returned!

My husband LOVED this dress and he did not want me to return it.  But I thought the color and pattern was way too similar to a dress Stitch Fix sent me  in the spring (you can see that dress HERE.)  I also did not find it that flattering on me.  I did love the jersey fabric and the braided neckline.

Instagram pollsters weren't that thrilled with the dress either.  It tied for last place with 57% of voters saying to "Keep" and 43% saying to "Return".

Vince Camuto "Kade Slim Straight Leg Pant"

Status:  KEPT!

I really, really love these pants!  They are made of the same material as a high quality, thick legging, yet they have a zipper and a waist band and are looser than a legging.  I can finally wear "leggings as pants" and not feel self-conscious.

Instagram readers loved the pants too as they came in at #1 at 100% saying to "Keep"!

Love Ellie "Cheril Pointelle Duster Cardigan"

Status:  KEPT!

This was another item I was thrilled to see in my Fix.  I have a lot of cardigans in my closet, but none in this pretty dusty blue color.  I also loved how thin it was.  I do not like chunky sweaters on my frame.  It's perfect for these earlier fall days and I think I'll get a lot of use out of in spring too.

Instagram readers really liked this cardigan too as it came in 2nd place with 88% saying to "Keep" it and only 12% saying to "Return" it.

Daniel Rainn "Demeter Tie Neck Blouse"

Status:  Returned

I really liked many things about this top;  the mixed print, and the many little details like the borders and tassel ties.  However, I already own so many dark florals already,  I really didn't need another dark floral top.  But most importantly, the sleeves were too tight.  It's an issue I have with a lot of 3/4 sleeves as my arms are very long and where the sleeves stop it always feels too tight.  If I size up, then the top is too big everywhere else.  So, I have just learned to avoid most 3/4 sleeves.

Readers weren't that fond of this top either.  It tied for last place with the dress, coming in at 57% "Keep" and 43% "Return."

To summarize, I received five items:  earrings, a pair of pants, a dress, a cardigan, and a top.  I kept three of the five items:  the earrings, pants, and cardigan.

Stitch Fix Fall Fashion

In Blog Land we hear so much about the weather in other parts of the country and the world.   Most of you are complaining it's too hot yet to wear your fall fashions.  Here in Wisconsin it won't stop raining.  And it's not drizzling folks, it's POURING!  It has been pouring rain for four days straight.  I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever get the fall garden chores done this year.

Thankfully these pictures were taken before the rain, because I certainly couldn't wear a suede coat and suede booties in the rain.

I titled this post "Stitch Fix Fall Fashion" because three of the items I am wearing are from Stitch Fix!    The earrings (more on those on Friday's Fashion Post),  jacket, and top are all from Stitch Fix.  The jacket I received in a Fix from last year (see that post HERE), but the other two pieces were in my September box.

I kept the neutral look head to toe by carrying a brown saddlebag (mine is old, but I love THIS ONE) and wearing brown booties.

My shoes are from JCPenney (old, similar HERE).  I love the perforated design on the heel.

My released hem jeans I purchased last year from Charlotte Russe.  I'm still so bummed they went out of business.  I loved their jeans and shoes!

The top is by Daniel Rain and is called "Demeter Tie Neck Blouse".

I thought the top and jacket went so well together because the colors of the print were the same as the jacket.

I really liked the style of this top.  It had pretty tassels, and I liked the neutral print and different patterns.  However, because I have very long arms, the bottom of the sleeve was too tight on me.  I find that to be an issue with most 3/4 length tops or tab button sleeves.

In next week Friday's Fashion Post I'll give you a closer look at the earrings I received in this Fix as well as a review of the entire box.  You will have to wait to find out if I kept this top till then.

How To Style A Kimono For Fall

On Monday's Fashion Post, I shared how dusters are the perfect fall layer, but kimonos, especially dark or fall colored ones, work well for fall too.  They are so lightweight, you can wear a kimono during the cooler periods of the day, and if it heats up mid-day, just take it off and toss it in your purse.

This long black kimono I have had for a year or two.  I have shown it to you once before styled with a dress in THIS POST.

I bought my kimono on clearance years ago, but I found THIS ONE at Amazon that is pretty similar.

I carried a metallic, rose gold bag (old, similar HERE) to pull out the pink flowers in my kimono.

Underneath my kimono I wore a new olive green swing tank from JCPenney and Black Straight Leg Pants from Stitch Fix. The olive color top is sold out at JCP, but they have a few left in other colors HERE, and Amazon also has one HERE.

My pants are by Vince Camuto and are called "Kade Slim Straight Leg Pant".  I absolutely love these pants.  They are made of the same soft, stretchy material that high quality leggings are, yet they have a zipper and a waistband.  They are as comfortable as wearing leggings, yet they are a step up because they're actually pants.  I got mine from Stitch Fix, but I also found them on sale at Macy's HERE!

For jewelry I chose this matching earring and necklace set from my collection.  Mine is old, but  I love this set from Amazon.

For footwear,  I chose black suede booties (old).

Dusters: The Perfect Early Fall Layer

I was so elated to see this pretty blue duster in my September box from Stitch Fix.  I always prefer dusters or cardigans over pullover sweaters during the winter months, because they are so easy to remove if I get too warm.  Long dusters can sometimes be problematic in the winter, because they tend to hang longer than most coats.  But in fall, when you don't need a coat, a long duster like this makes the perfect early fall layer.

The duster is by Love Ellie and is called "Cheril Pointelle Duster Cardigan".  In case you want to request this from your Stitch Fix stylist, I am wearing a size Medium for reference.

The duster is a good length for me, stopping around five inches above my knee on my 5'7 frame.

I chose some pretty leafy earrings from Amazon in honor of the first day of fall.

What I really loved about this cardigan was how thin it was.  I'm not a fan of chunky knits on my body frame.  I also thought the see-thru design was very pretty.

I carried a burgundy bag to add a little more color to the outfit other than blue and white.  Mine is old, but I like THIS ONE on Amazon as well.

For footwear, I chose these suede navy blue booties, also from Stitch Fix.

I could not find this exact sweater on-line, but HERE is a similar one in Sea Moss.

I was happy to get this cardigan not just because of the style, but also the color.  I already own so many cardigans,  but I don't have any in blue.

I'll let you know in my Stitch Fix Review post if I kept this cardigan, but I'm sure you can already guess!  :)

How To Style A Summer Dress For Fall

On Monday I shared "How To Style A Summer Maxi Dress For Fall",  today I'm sharing a new summer dress I received in my September box from Stitch Fix.  The dress is by Wisp and is called "Cyndie Jersey Dress".

Cardigans, jackets, and blazers are great ways to extend the life of summer dresses into fall.  The blue in this dress made it ideal to pair with a blue denim jacket.

Because the dress is sleeveless,  it's very easy to throw another layer over the dress for those no extra bulk on the arms.

The dress is so comfortable, for it is made of a soft, jersey knit.  I love the fit n' flare shape of the dress too.

I couldn't find this exact dress on line, but I love THIS ONE from Amazon.

To make this summer dress even more appropriate for fall, I added a contrasting fall color by carrying this mustard bag (similar HERE)

The bracelets and earrings are handmade jewelry I picked up on my vacation to Utah.  The teal color in the jewelry pulls out the teal in the dress.

The dress has a beautiful braided neckline with a keyhole opening.

This is the time of year I no longer like to show my toes, but if it's too warm to wear booties, I just pick a closed toe shoe option like these flat dark blue ballet shoes.  My shoes are old, but HERE is a similar pair.

I really like this dress because of the fabric.  These types of dresses are great for traveling because they never wrinkle and they take up so little space in a bag.  I took two dresses from Stitch Fix on my Utah vacation and I basically just rolled them up and threw them in my suitcase.  When it came time to go out to dinner,  I just unrolled a dress, threw on a pair of sandals, and I was off!  I loved it!

As always,  I'll let you know at my end of the month Stitch Fix Review post if I kept the dress as well as the results of my Instagram Poll.
