Wink Wink Ink "Deer Friend"

Hello, today I want to show you one of the sweetest Wink Wink Ink images ever called 'Deer Friend'. I just love this image, it's so beautifully drawn, and I am jealous of those long eyelashes! LOL!

This image comes in both black and white and pre-colored. I colored the image myself with Copic Markers and added the white spots on the doe's back with a White Paint Pen. The paper is from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is computer generated. The sketch is from Mojo Monday. I mounted the main image panel on dimensionals. Here is a close up of this sweetie!

Well with my busy, busy schedule I just realized I MISSED MY BLOGAVERASARY!!!!! It was September 15, 2008 that I started this blog. My, where has the time gone? I've made so many new friends and had so many great new adventures through this blog. I am so deeply grateful for all of it. Well, I will have to have some blog candy in honor of it all. Be prepared for an announcement coming soon!

Digital Tuesday Challenge 'Give Thanks'

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge is to 'Give Thanks'. Simply make a thank you card or project with at least one digital image on it. To make my card, I used a floral image from a Flower Digi Set called 'Fancy Flowers' created by Lindsay's Stamp Set and sold at MyGrafico. I cut the image out and popped it up on dimensionals. The main image panel is also up on dimensionals. The paper is from DCWV 'Mariposa Stack'. Here is a close up of this lovely image. I just love poppies. They are one of my favorite flowers.

And here is the sentiment tag. The tag is a Cuttlebug Die, the sentiment is an adhesive sticker, and the butterfly is from K & Co.

September Christmas Cards

Hello! Today I have 5 Christmas Cards to show you for the month of September. As most of you already know, I make 5 Christmas Cards a month so that I will have 60 Cards by the end of the year and I don't have to make them all during the busy Christmas Season.

For my first card, I used a Digital Image by 'Fred, She Said'. The paper is Cosmo Cricket 'Mitten Weather', and the Sketch is from Mojo Monday. I used Stickles and Flower Soft for the Snow, and Liquid Applique on the girls clothing. The main image panel is mounted up on dimensionals.

For my next card, I used an old Stampin Up! image called "Baby Jesus is Born". This is one of my favorite SU! sets. I just love the simplicity of it. The paper is Basic Grey 'Jovial Paper Pad' and the sketch is SC297 from SCS. The sentiment is a plastic thing-a-ma-jig that came in a package of decorative Xmas Buttons from JoAnn's. The main image panel and the polka dotted panel are both mounted up on dimensionals.

Here I used the same stamp set and paper again but with a different sketch from SCS (SC298). I mounted the sentiment and the sheep up on dimensionals.

The sweet angel Xmas Card below is a digital image from 'Cute Daisy May'. The sketch is from MMSC69. Paper is Cosmo Cricket 'Mitten Weather'.

And finally, for my last card, I used a Crafty Secrets Stamp Set called 'Snow Bunnies'. The paper is Basic Grey 'Eskimo Kisses'. I used both Flower Soft and Stickles for the snow, and Liquid Applique on the Bunnie's ears. The hearts are adhesive gels from Cloud 9.

Wink Wink Ink 'Sourpuss'

Hello! Today I have an older Wink Wink Ink image to show you, but new to me because I didn't have it before! Meet SourPuss. I've always been so drawn to this image, I love the intensity in the cat's eye. It reminds me of my own cat when he was younger and always on the prowl for some mice in my 150 year old country farmhouse. Now my cat is 17 years old and no longer hunts. He just sleeps or eats. A mouse could crawl right past him and he wouldn't even move. I've thought of getting a new kitten to help keep the country critters under control, but the thought of caring and being committed to yet another animal for 20 years seemed overwhelming. So, I'll just stick to mouse traps for now. LOL!

Anyway, about my cat. I colored the image myself with Copic Markers and I mounted up the cat's head on dimensionals. I wanted to keep the card 'dark' to match the mood of the image and sentiment, so I used dark colored card stock and designer papers. The sentiment is also mounted up on dimensionals and I got it off the internet by googling 'cat quotes'. I thought it fit the image well, and I really liked the humor in it. Here is a close up of the image so you can see the coloring and the dimension.

And here is a close up of the sentiment in case you couldn't read it in the first picture. Isn't that funny?

Digital Tuesday Challenge 'One for the Girls'

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge is 'One for the Girls'. Simply make a card or project using at least one digital image that is something a girl would like to receive. To make my card, I used the Digital Stamp Oasis image "Susie the Dancing Squirrel". I colored the image with Copic Markers, and while the image was still in the Nestability Die Frame, I colored around the image with Chalk. I put Stickles on the tutu. The paper is from K & Co. The sketch is from "I Love to Stamp'. I got the sentiment off the Internet by googling 'Dance quotes'. I put adhesive pearls in each corner of the frame. Here is a close up of this sweet image that any little girl would love to receive.

Jordan's High School Scrap Book 'Concert Band'

Hello. Today I have another page my daughter Ashley did for my son's High School Scrap Book. Jordan was in Concert Band all four years of High School, so Ashley did an entire page dedicated to his commitment.

The first picture shows the page in its entirety. It shows Jordan playing a variety of percussion instruments. The pictures are mounted on a blend of solid card stock and musical designer paper. Here is a close up of the title and two of the pictures. I love her creative title!

Here is a close up of the other side of the page. The picture of the drum set and the musical instruments were photocopied off the computer and cut out.

Well the drama of my son's first semester in college never seems to end. My friends told me to expect lots of ups and downs, and more melt downs, and they were right. Jordan's email to me yesterday was 'Concert Band is gay, my piano teacher's a '.....', and I hate music right now.' O.k. So what's a loving mother suppose to do with that? Well, first I prayed, then I responded with a loving and wise email that hopefully straightened him out. I tell you, because that kid has such an artistic personality, he always has such extreme emotional mood swings that 'DRIVE ME CRAZY'. I'm sure tomorrow everything will be all wonderful again. UGH! He's 19 now. When will my role as mother ever end? I know, I know, no matter old your kids get, they still need you.

Wink Wink Ink "Wooly Bear"

Hello, today I have a card made with the new Wink Wink Ink image 'Wooly Bear'. Now some of you might be surprised to see that this little guy isn't a bear, but a caterpillar! Every fall we get these adorable little guys crawling in our yards in Wisconsin. It's a sign that winter is about to come. There are many old folktales that say you can tell how cold or long the winter will be based on the size of the stripe of the caterpillar. If the stripe is thick, it means the winter will be mild, if the stripe is narrow, it means the winter will be severe. I don't know about you, but I'm hoping to find lots of thick striped Wooly Bear Caterpillars in my yard this fall!

Because these cute little guys arrive in fall, I decided to use fall papers and colors on my card. They are from the DCWV Amber Autumn Fall Stack Collection. My layout is from Our Creative Corner. This image comes with three different sentiments, all of which I love so it was hard to choose which one to use, but I settled on this one because it has always been one of my most treasured quotes. Here is a close up of the main image. I colored mine with Copic Markers, but it is also available pre-colored.

And here is the sentiment which I printed onto designer paper. The butterflies are a Cuttlebug Die Cut.

Digital Tuesday Challenge 'Sports Theme'

To make my card I used the Dustin Pike image 'Carrot Racer'. I printed the image three times and popped the race car up on dimensionals once, and the tires were popped up twice. Jordan's High School Scrap Book 'The Senior Photos'

Hello! Today I have a very simple yet effective scrapbook page that my daughter Ashley did for my son's High School Scrap Book. This page shows how you can showcase some of those professional senior photos.

To make this page, Ashley simply matted 3 Senior photos and placed them on a piece of solid card stock which is over a piece of decorative paper. the name and year are stamps. She made some decorative corner pieces and added metal brads for embellishments.

For those of you who are concerned, Jordan FINALLY seems to be adjusting well to college. I can't believe how much he has changed in just two weeks. He is so much more talkative, is growing spiritually, and learning how to stand on his own. Not easy for the baby in the family. He's doing well in all his classes, in fact his music teacher wanted to create a special Music Theory program for him because she was afraid he would get 'bored'. Jordan excels in Music Theory, he tested out of 'Introduction to Music Theory' because he got a perfect score on his music theory college entrance exam. He probably should have skipped the class he is in now too, its basically just 'review' for him, but the administrator said 'they've never had a student as advanced in music theory as him before', so they probably aren't quite sure what to do with him yet. LOL! He also has his first 'crush', but mom and dad are trying to talk him out of that one. Its a little early for a college relationship! So thank you all for all your supportive comments, thoughts, and prayers. I've been told by other mom's to prepare for a second melt down, so I know its not all going to be downhill from here! LOL!

Wink Wink Ink 'Teddy Bear Messages'

Hi everyone! Today I have a couple of cards to show you that uses one of Wink Wink Ink's new sets called 'Teddy Bear Messages'. I just love the versatility with this set. The main image, the teddy bear, comes in black and white or pre-colored AND also comes with the teddy's back side. In addition to the main image, you get 6 messages that are in a frame for the teddy to hold. They are 'Get Well, Happy Birthday, Its a Boy!, Its a Girl!, Miss you, and Hug for You!'. I chose to use the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment in both my cards, since I am always in need of more birthday cards.

My first card shows a traditional card. I printed the image in black and white and colored it myself with Copic Markers. I cut the image out and popped it up on dimensionals. I then cut out the 'message' and curved it a bit and glued just the ends to the Bear's paws. The paper is K & Co Small Wonders Boy. Here is a close up so you can see the coloring and the curve of the banner.

My second card shows how you can make a quick, easy, and uniquely shaped card with this image. I simply printed the image full size and in color, cut it out, and then added a bouquet of flowers for embellishment.

And here is the back side of the image that I mentioned earlier. Isn't this just the cutest?

April Christmas Cards

Yep! You read it right. 'April Christmas Cards'. I fell behind on my Xmas Card Challenge on SCS and I'm still playing catch-up! Only 5 more cards to go, and I'm back on track! Yippee! Now, onto April's Cards:

My first card I made for both the Christmas Card Challenge and the Penny Black 'All Sorts Challenge: Punch Away'. I used a Clean and Simple layout from the Clean and Simple Challenge Blog. I put both Liquid Applique and Flower Soft on the snow and Stickles inside the lamp. The white globes on the scalloped punch were purchased at Archivers. I get to go there a lot now that my son is going to college in Minnesota! There's one store right off the freeway, and another in the Mall of America. Here is a close up of the top of the image so you can see the Stickles and the Flower Soft.

My second card uses the Papertrey Ink Image 'Boards and Beams' and the holiday set that coordinates with it. The sketch is from Midnight Madness and the paper is 'Eskimo Kisses' by Basic Grey. This card is so much prettier in real life. The colors just didn't photograph well.

This card uses a digital image by Cute Daisy May. The sketch is SC295. The cloud is felt that I covered with Flower Soft. I also put Flower Soft on the Primas. The paper is DCWV.

This image was colored with Prismacolored Pencils.

And finally, my last card uses a very old retired Stampin Up! image that an online friend sent me in the mail, so I don't know the name of it. The sketch is SCS296. The large snowflake was cut with a Sizzix Die. I put Liquid Applique and Flower Soft on the main image and glitter on the snowflake. The paper is also DCWV.

Digital Tuesday Challenge 'Dots and Stripes'

Hello and welcome to another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week's challenge is 'Dots and Stripes', simply make a card or project with Dots and Strips on it using at least one Digital Image. Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights by Louby Loo and they are giving away a $10.00 gift certificate to one lucky randomly chosen winner.

Louby Loo was generous and gave the designers several images to work with, I chose to use their two new Halloween Images "Lilybelle the Witch" and "Sitting Mummy" since I had this great Dots and Stripes Halloween Paper to go with the images.

Here is my first card using Lilybelle the Witch. The paper is last years DCWV Halloween Stack. The layout is from I Love to Stamp. The main image panel is mounted up on dimensionals.

Here is a close up of this sweet witch. My next card uses the Digital image 'Sitting Mummy'. The card base was purchased at JoAnn's in their dollar bins. What a deal those bins are! I simply attached some designer paper and added a ribbon and the image. Talk about a quick and easy card!

Wink Wink Ink September Challenge 'Anything BUT a Card'

Hello! Today is the first Monday of the month and you know what that means: a NEW Wink Wink Ink Challenge!!!! This month's challenge is 'Anything BUT a card'. Simply make anything you want, as long as it is NOT a card and uses a Wink Wink Ink image.

Well I had purchased this adorable wooden mailbox a long time at JoAnn's Fabrics and Crafts and finally decided to do something with it. I thought the image "Kitty Note" would be perfect for my mail box, so that's the one I chose to use. Here is my completed mail box with a matching card: And here is what the mail box looked like before:

I covered most of the mail box with designer paper. I painted only a small portion with a Robin's Egg Blue that was too difficult to cover with paper. I hand cut some design elements of the paper out and using Mod Podge, glued them to the painted portion of the box. I added some ribbon for embellishment.

Here is a view of the back and side of the box. The Kitty image was printed in the full size it came in and colored with Copic Markers. I then cut it out it out and glued it to the box with Mod Podge.

I chose the Robin's Egg Blue color and matching designer paper because I plan on using this as a storage box in my future craft room, and those will be the colors of that room.
