Program Plan Intro

Inheritance diagram:

  • The properties of one class can be used by another class using inheritance.
  • A class, which inherits the properties from another class, is called subclass.
  • A super class is the one in which the properties can be inherited by subclass.
  • The inheritance diagram can be drawn from super class to sub class.
  • In inheritance diagram, the super or parent class is appeared previous to the sub class and sub class is appeared next to the parent class.
  • If the properties of the class do not contain access specifier, then “public” access specifier is used as the default access specifier.

Representation of inheritance diagram:

  • The class in inheritance diagram can be represented using rectangle symbol.
  • The rectangle box is splitted into three divisions.
  • The first part represents the name of the class, the second part represents the field names and the third part represents the methods.
  • The arrow mark represents the hierarchy from parent class to child class.
  • The symbols used to represent the access specifiers are as follows.
    • Public (“+”)
    • Private (“-”)
    • Protected (“#”)

the database for a professional hockey league in Canada that contains the following relations: teams(name, id, budget, home_venue_id) players(name, position, id, salary, team_id) ⚫ venues(name, city, capacity, id) games(home_team_id, away_team_id, venue_id, winner_id, date, start-time, id, overtime) tickets(game_id, seat number, price) Create an Entity-Relationship (E-R) model for the hockey league. Draw your model. Your diagram should follow the conventions discussed in lecture. In the diagram, identify all primary keys and mapping cardinalities. Note: You may use software such as draw.io, PowerPoint, etc. to draw your diagram or you may draw it by hand and take a clear photo or scan to insert into your submission.
