Explanation of Solution
“EOFException”:
- The “EOFException” is thrown when the program try to read beyond the end of a file.
- When the user use the “ObjectInputStream” at that time the “EOFException” class can be used to test for the end of a file.
- The “EOFException” class is one of the sub class of “IOException” class. So every exception of type “EOFException” is also of type “IOException”.
Example:
Consider an example of “writeDouble” is as follows:
//include requried header files
import java.io.FileInputStream;
import java.io.FileNotFoundException;
import java.io.ObjectInputStream;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.io.EOFException;
//definition of "ReadFile" class
public class ReadFile
{
//definition of main method
public static void main(String[] args)throws Exception
{
//declare and set the value to the variable
String filename = "input.dat";
//try block
try
{
/*create an object for "ObjectInputStream" stream class*/
ObjectInputStream inputStream = new ObjectInputStream(new FileInputStream(filename));
//display the statement
System.out.println("The " + filename +" file contains");
//try block
try
{
//check the condition
while (true)
{
/*read the input from the user*/
double x = inputStream.readDouble();
//display the numbers
System...
