Helton Creek
Another little spot in the woods I visited this week.
The Upper Falls

This was yet another place that was hit by the massive storms on April 27th. A large tree took out the observation deck at the top falls but it did leave a nice little walkaway across the creek to get up close and personal. Seems though all of my favorite spots so far were in the path of the tornadoes that night.

oh that lower falls shot is something. nice work. #1 needs a WB adjustment though.
-
Totally agree with WD on this one. Lovin' #2 for sure.
-
Thanks.
I'll play with the WB on the first one and see if I can get it a bit better. That one was a bit more challenging since it was half in the sun and half not.

that's why I don't even bother with waterfalls unless it's overcast or before sunrise. Just too much for the camera.
-
That is what's good about most of them around here though is that even at high noon you can do a 4 second exposure and be fine. Usually the trees are so thick that it's about like sunrise. A few though are not in the shade, mostly the bigger ones.

Cool place thi sis. And I also favor shot #2, well done.
-
I give that 2nd shot a 'WOW' ... stunning composition and light!
-
Thanks again.
It is a pretty cool place Matt, that's why this time of the year it is hard to get in there with out a bunch of yahoos running around in the shot!
