Quilts From India
As an editor of Sewn I visit many places and have seen a lot of beautiful quilt exhibitions and shows and places where they manufacture and print beautiful fabrics. Last week I was in India. I visited a beautiful quilt shop/company where they produced many beautiful handmade silk and cotton quilts from India. Each quilt is a masterpiece! Not only have I visited India for Sewn but also to see an orphanage. The last few years I am a volunteer for the Caveri foundation. This is a foundation that is sponsoring several projects for children in India, such as this orphanage. The home is situated in the south of India, 100 km east from Bangalore and gives home to 35 children. Here they also receive an education as well as several kids from the village around this home. It was a very beautiful and lovely experience to be part of this home for a couple of days!
