It’s a beautiful fall 🍁 day in the ⛰️mountains . Not much sleep last night due to ALL the smoke detectors screaming at 230am. Ugh. We don’t know why either 🤷🏼‍♀️ temp change maybe? Sewing 🧵 my little heart ❤️ out to get ready for my first holiday 🎄 craft fair one week from today. Back to the🧂 salt mine. Have a great weekend! 🥰🥰 Teresa

Crazy Plant Lady

I’m really enjoying this corner of my dining room. The colors outside the window, the plants inside the window, what can be better? That monstera is really living up to his name, the tiny fir I brought home from the grocery store after Christmas a few years ago just keeps getting more lush, those succulents love climbing the window and Agnes the peach zygote cactus, she wants all the attention…such a show off! 🍁🍃❤️ 🌱 🪴 🌵🥰💚 Teresa

 

ANNOUNCING: Bozeman, Montana Chapter!

SO VERY EXCITED to have our first chapter in Montana! Elizabeth reached out to me this past summer and asked about starting a chapter in Bozeman. Of course I said yes! Elizabeth used to live in my neighborhood and got a bag from me years ago. She noticed that too many plastic bags were going out the door at the local grocery stores and decided to do something about it. Way to go and welcome to the Green  Bag Lady family Bagette Elizabeth, so happy to have you on board! :) Teresa

First Photo: Over 100 bags ready to go out into the community.

Second Photo: Bags ready for new homes at the Bozeman Library.

Third Photo: 50 Bags going to the McKinney Vento Families in Transition. The bags will be filled with school supplies and hats/gloves for kiddos who are unhoused.

Just thought I’d share Bagette Dad’s headstone that was finally installed this week on his resting spot in his hometown in South Dakota. Yes, it was his wish to have the Green Bag Lady logo on there. What an honor to have such a loving, supportive and amazing dad. I sure miss him. XOXO—Teresa

UPDATE: New Zealand Chapter!

Such cute bags from Bagette Olive all the way over in New Zealand. I love that we have so many chapters around the world helping to reduce plastic. One of these days I will get to NZ and sew with Olive's group. :)  Keep up the great work everyone! Teresa

I'm decluttering my sewing room but made 57 bag kits for community sewing for next year. I made up 3 kids bags as they needed a bit of piecing first.

Our community sewing group has disbanded for spring and summer meet again in March 2025.

Here's an Update from the Maine Chapter of the GBL Project.

The Maine Chapter of the Green Bag Project has been making kids size fabric bags recently. They measure 12“ x 12“ with 12“ x 3“ handles. We received a fabulous donation of children’s themed fabric from a wonderful 92 year friend of mine, and the bags are super cute.

Here are three photos that were taken at the Southwest Harbor farmers market this summer when I gave out bags as a guest vendor. 

I found that the adults also liked the 12 x 12“ bags. I think we might start making 12 x 12“ bags for adults too with fabric pieces that are too small to make 18 x 18“ bags.

I geeked out and decorated for Halloween this week. I realized I didn’t have a felt banner for my fireplace like I do for all other holidays 🤷🏼‍♀️ no idea why. So, I ran to the sewing machine to make one. I love how it turned out and specifically love the googly eyes peeking from the mummy wrap. Hope you are enjoying a lovely fall weekend. 😊🧡🖤 Teresa

The Edmonds, WA Chapter of the Green Bag Lady Project met on September 20, 2024 at the home of Bagette Kathleen.

 

Bagette Pamela said: “Hi there! A small but mighty group gathered for our September GBL sewing bee! It was a beautiful fall day and we took a tour of Kathy's gardens in the backyard!”

Bagette Susan keeps me posted about some of the local organizations the Edmonds, WA Chapter of GBL  have contributed fabric bags to and/or have contacted to see if they need/want bags, which include the Edmonds Food Pantry, Path from Poverty, Cocoon House, and Hygiene Center.

 

I’m so proud of these Edmonds Bagettes. I can’t wait until I have another opportunity to go to Washington to sew and visit them. Thanks to Bagette Pamela for the photos.

Just over here making 6 dozen cookies for a potluck BBQ tomorrow. 🍪🍪 How about you? I made 2 different gluten free varieties: chocolate chip, coconut, pecan & apricot, oatmeal, white chocolate, pecan. Of course I had to taste test. Both ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so good.
